Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Head Nurse to lead nursing operations at Hibiscus Care Home. The Head Nurse will be responsible for ensuring high standards of resident care, supervising nursing and caregiver staff, managing medication and clinical documentation, and coordinating with doctors, residents' families and the Centre Manager.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Nursing and Resident Care

- Oversee daily nursing operations and ensure safe, high-quality care for all residents.
- Conduct regular resident assessments and monitor changes in their health conditions.
- Develop, implement and review individualized nursing care plans.
- Ensure timely administration of medication, prescribed treatments and nursing procedures.
- Coordinate doctor visits, medical consultations, hospital transfers and emergency care.

2. Team Management and Supervision
- Supervise Staff Nurses, GDAs and other caregiving personnel.
- Prepare and manage duty rosters, shift allocations and staff deployment.
- Ensure appropriate nursing and caregiver coverage across all shifts.
- Conduct staff training on nursing procedures, infection control, hygiene and resident safety.
- Monitor staff performance, discipline, attendance and adherence to care protocols.

3. Medication and Clinical Management
- Supervise medication administration and maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MAR).
- Monitor medication inventory, expiry dates and storage conditions.
- Ensure appropriate handling and documentation of controlled medications, where applicable.
- Maintain emergency medical equipment and ensure emergency supplies are readily available.

4. Clinical Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, resident health records, vital charts and care plans.
- Ensure proper shift handovers and timely reporting of clinical incidents.
- Implement infection prevention and control measures.




- Conduct regular nursing audits and ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and internal SOPs.
- Report medication errors, falls, pressure injuries and other clinical incidents to the appropriate authority.

5. Resident and Family Coordination
- Communicate with residents and their families regarding health updates and care requirements, within authorized protocols.
- Address nursing-related concerns and coordinate their timely resolution.
- Ensure residents are treated with dignity, compassion and respect.
- Coordinate with physiotherapists, dietitians and other healthcare professionals to support comprehensive resident care.

6. Administrative Responsibilities
- Submit daily clinical updates and periodic nursing reports to management.
- Monitor nursing consumables, medical supplies and inventory requirements.
- Participate in clinical reviews, management meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with HR regarding nursing staff requirements, training and performance evaluations.

B.Sc. Nursing

Registration

Valid registration with the relevant State Nursing Council

Experience

3–8 years of nursing experience, preferably including 2–3 years in a supervisory role

Preferred background

Senior living, geriatric care, hospitals, rehabilitation or long-term care facilities

Computer skills

Basic MS Office and electronic clinical documentation

Pay: ₹55,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
