About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Human Resources to lead the complete HR function and build a strong, performance-driven and employee-focused organisation.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives, while ensuring strong people practices, compliance, employee engagement and organisational development.
Key Responsibilities1. HR Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the overall HR strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Partner with the Founders and leadership team on people-related decisions.
- Build scalable HR processes, policies and systems to support organisational growth.
- Drive HR initiatives around culture, performance, retention and employee experience.
1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for senior, managerial and critical positions.
- Develop effective sourcing and hiring strategies to attract high-quality talent.
- Work closely with business heads to understand manpower requirements and workforce plans.
- Strengthen employer branding and employee referral initiatives.
1. Performance Management
- Design and manage the organisation's performance management framework.
- Drive goal setting, performance reviews, appraisals and promotion processes.
- Partner with managers to address performance-related concerns and development needs.
- Establish measurable KRAs/KPIs across functions.
1. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Build a positive, collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives, internal communication and employee feedback mechanisms.
- Plan and execute employee engagement activities, events and recognition programs.
- Develop initiatives focused on employee retention and overall employee experience.
1. Compensation & Benefits
- Manage salary structures, compensation benchmarking and annual appraisal cycles.
- Oversee payroll, incentives, bonuses, advantages and employee welfare programs.
- Develop competitive compensation and retention strategies in line with business requirements.
1. HR Policies & Compliance
- Develop, review and implement HR policies and processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Oversee employee documentation, contracts, disciplinary processes and HR records.
- Ensure appropriate implementation of POSH, leave, attendance, grievance and other statutory policies.
1. Learning & Development
- Identify organisational and individual training requirements.
- Develop training and development programs for employees and managers.
- Support leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
1. HR Operations & Technology
- Oversee HR operations including onboarding, employee lifecycle management, attendance, leave, payroll coordination and exits.
- Implement and optimise HRMS and other HR technology platforms.
- Maintain accurate HR data, MIS and management reports.
- Use HR analytics and people data to support business decisions.
1. Employee Relations
- Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and management.
- Handle employee grievances, conflicts and disciplinary matters professionally.
- Promote transparent communication and a healthy workplace environment.
1. Leadership & Organisation Development
- Develop succession plans for critical roles.
- Identify high-potential employees and create career development frameworks.
- Support organisational restructuring and change management initiatives.
- Work with leadership to strengthen the organisation's leadership pipeline.
Desired Candidate Profile
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification.
- 10–15+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant experience in a leadership role.
- Experience in a growing organisation, startup, technology, financial services, insurance, healthcare or similar environment will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of HR operations, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of applicable Indian labour laws and HR compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people strategy with business objectives.
- Ability to work independently and build HR processes from the ground up.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
