Role & responsibilities
- Review and approve fire system designs; conduct compliance audits and drills; obtain all necessary statutory fire clearances (NOCs); develop and implement Emergency Response Plans (ERPs); Liaise with the Fire Department.
- The Fire Manager must supervise and direct fire safety contractors and teams, ensuring technical standards are met. This includes managing the budget, equipment resources, and delivering mandatory fire safety training to build capacity among site and operational staff.
- KPIs are centered on achieving high levels of compliance, including the Statutory Compliance Rate (NOC status) and System Reliability (zero critical failures). Performance is also measured by the effectiveness of emergency drills, the timely closure of audit NCRs, and a reduction in the overall Incident Frequency Rate.
- The role is fully accountable for Life Safety Assurance and rigorous Statutory Risk Mitigation to prevent project delays or penalties. The manager is responsible for protecting critical metro assets and achieving the final, necessary Fire Authority Sign-off required for the successful operational handover of the metro system.
Preferred candidate profile
- Minimum 3 years' experience specifically on metro, rail, or large transit infrastructure projects. Must have hands-on experience in implementing fire safety during the construction and commissioning phases.
- Education: B.Tech or B.Sc. in Fire Engineering is mandatory.
- Certifications: Preference for candidates with a Metro-approved CV.
Certifications in specific fire protection standards or auditing (e.g., NEBOSH Fire Safety) are desirable.
