Apave International – India Region is looking for an experienced Finance Controller – India Region to strengthen its Finance function.
The Finance Controller will be responsible for budget monitoring, forecasting, financial reporting, management control and financial analysis across the India Region. The role will work closely with Business Units and local teams to ensure reliable financial information, identify performance gaps, support corrective actions and contribute to the harmonization of management control processes and tools across the region.
Main Responsibilities
Budget, Reporting & Financial Analysis
- Carry out budget monitoring for Business Units, including forecasting, annual budget preparation and consolidation.
- Ensure the reliability, accuracy and consistency of financial data and provide relevant analysis and comments.
- Review the accuracy of data entered into the ERP and Group reporting/consolidation systems.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly financial closing activities.
- Implement and harmonize analytical accounting practices and support training of local teams.
- Analyze the financial and analytical results of Business Units.
- Support financial control of Business Units, including performance analysis, expenditure control, cost price and standard cost analysis.
- Analyze business and project profitability, including work-in-progress.
- Identify and analyze variances and gaps and support Business Units in implementing corrective measures.
- Contribute to the preparation of central analytical and management reporting.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects focused on improving management tools and business performance.
Change Management & Management Tools
- Assist and train local teams in the effective use and understanding of business and project management tools.
- Monitor and analyze project performance through business management tools,
including budgets, costs, margins and variances.
- Support Business Units and project teams in identifying gaps, reducing variances and improving performance.
- Participate in quarterly project reviews and prepare project review analysis and summaries.
- Support the implementation and harmonization of management control processes and tools across the India Region.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Control or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as CA, CMA or ACCA would be an advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Management Control, Financial Controlling, FP&A; or a similar role.
- Experience in an international or multinational environment is preferred.
- Experience in financial analysis and project controlling would be an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial management principles.
- Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of financial systems and processes in an international environment.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, advanced formulas and macros.
- Experience with ERP systems and Group accounting, reporting and consolidation tools.
- Ability to analyze financial and operational data and provide meaningful business insights.
