Finance Director

Town of Raymond The Town of Raymond (est. pop. 11,000) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Director to lead the Town’s Finance Department.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week), non-union position responsible for directing the Town’s financial operations, including financial planning, accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, procurement, grants, debt, capital improvement programs, and risk management.

The Finance

Director works closely with the Town Manager, department heads, elected and appointed officials, auditors, financial institutions, and the public.

The successful candidate must possess strong professional judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and effectively communicate complex financial information to a variety of audiences.

Qualifications Preferred

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a related field; equivalent education and progressively responsible experience may be considered.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting or financial management experience, preferably including municipal or governmental accounting.
- Municipal finance, budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and/or governmental accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable governmental accounting principles, municipal finance practices,



budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supervising staff and coordinating the work of a Finance Department preferred.

The Town of Raymond offers a market-competitive salary and benefit package. Salary: $85,000 – $110,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
