- Job Summary
Devanika Hospital & Research Center is looking for an experienced and responsible Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day functioning, coordination and service quality of the hospital's non-clinical operations.
The Facility Manager will have overall responsibility for coordinating and supervising Security, Housekeeping, Food & Beverages, Maintenance, Utilities and General Facility Operations, ensuring a clean, protected, secure, well-maintained and patient-friendly hospital environment.
The candidate will be required to coordinate with hospital management, clinical departments, vendors, contractors and outsourced manpower to ensure smooth and uninterrupted hospital operations.

- General Facility Operations
3. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Security Management
- Supervise overall hospital security operations.
- Ensure adequate deployment of security personnel across hospital premises.
- Prepare and monitor security duty rosters and shift arrangements.
- Ensure proper access control for patients, attendants, staff, vendors and visitors.
- Monitor entry and exit points, parking areas and restricted areas.
- Coordinate with security agencies and security supervisors.
- Ensure proper implementation of visitor-management procedures.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance and ensure timely reporting of security incidents.
- Handle and escalate security-related incidents to hospital management.
- Coordinate with local authorities, police and emergency services whenever required.
- Conduct regular security inspections and identify potential risks.
B. Housekeeping & Hygiene
- Supervise hospital housekeeping operations and manpower.
- Ensure cleanliness of wards, OPD areas, corridors, toilets, waiting areas, offices and other hospital premises.
- Establish and monitor cleaning schedules and checklists.
- Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection practices as per hospital protocols.
- Monitor housekeeping staff attendance, grooming, discipline and performance.
- Ensure timely replenishment of housekeeping supplies and consumables.
- Coordinate with nursing and clinical departments regarding cleanliness requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and take corrective action wherever required.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste in coordination with the concerned departments.
C. Food & Beverage / Dietary Services
- Supervise hospital cafeteria, kitchen and dietary services, as applicable.
- Ensure hygienic preparation, storage and serving of food.
- Monitor food quality, cleanliness and portion control.
- Coordinate with dietary/nursing teams regarding patient meal requirements where applicable.
- Ensure proper kitchen hygiene, equipment maintenance and pest-control measures.
- Monitor food and consumable inventory.
- Coordinate with food vendors and suppliers.
- Address patient/staff food-service complaints and ensure corrective action.
D. Maintenance & Engineering
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance of the hospital building, equipment and infrastructure.
- Coordinate electrical, plumbing, civil, HVAC/AC, carpentry, generator, lift and other facility-related maintenance.
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance is carried out promptly.
- Maintain records of maintenance schedules, complaints and completed work.
- Ensure essential utilities remain operational without unnecessary interruption.
- Coordinate with external technicians, contractors and service agencies.
- Monitor AMC/service contracts and ensure timely servicing.
- Identify recurring maintenance issues and recommend corrective measures.
- Ensure emergency maintenance support is available when required.
E. Utilities & Infrastructure
- Monitor electricity, DG/generator, water supply, sewage, HVAC and other essential hospital utilities.
- Ensure backup arrangements are functional.
- Monitor utility consumption and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary expenditure.
- Conduct regular inspection of critical facility areas.
- Ensure fire-safety systems and emergency infrastructure are regularly inspected and maintained.
- Coordinate with authorized agencies for statutory inspections, servicing and certifications as applicable.
F. Vendor & Contractor Management
- Manage day-to-day coordination with facility-related vendors and contractors.
- Verify manpower deployment and service quality.
- Monitor vendor performance against agreed requirements.
- Coordinate quotations, service requests and work orders with the administration/procurement team.
- Ensure timely completion of contracted work.
- Maintain records of contracts, AMC agreements, service reports and vendor performance.
- Escalate repeated service deficiencies to hospital management.
G. Manpower & Administration
- Supervise outsourced and facility-related staff.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, discipline, grooming and performance.
- Prepare or verify duty rosters and manpower deployment.
- Conduct regular meetings with supervisors of security, housekeeping, maintenance and other facility services.
- Identify manpower shortages and coordinate replacement/deployment.
- Train and guide staff regarding hospital standards, safety and patient-friendly behaviour.
- Maintain proper departmental records and reports.
4. Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and applicable safety standards.
- Coordinate implementation of fire-safety and emergency preparedness procedures.
- Support hospital emergency and disaster-management preparedness.
- Ensure appropriate infection-control practices are followed by facility staff.
- Ensure protected working practices for housekeeping, maintenance, security and food-service personnel.
- Conduct regular facility rounds and document observations.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions wherever required.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while dealing with hospital operations and patient-related matters.
5. Reporting & Escalation The Facility Manager will serve as the central coordination point for hospital facility-related issues.
The position will be responsible for promptly escalating:
- Security incidents
- Major maintenance breakdowns
- Utility failures
- Housekeeping/hygiene concerns
- Food-quality or safety concerns
- Vendor/service failures
- Fire and safety incidents
- Manpower shortages
- Any issue that may affect patient safety, hospital operations or hospital reputation
6. Required Qualification
Minimum Qualification:
- Graduate in any discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA / PG Diploma in Hospital Administration, Facility Management, Operations Management or related field.
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Facility Management may be advantageous.
7. Required Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience is mandatory.
Preferred candidates will have experience in:
- Hospital Facility Management
- Hospital Administration
- Hotel / Hospitality Facility Management
- Large healthcare facilities
- Corporate facility management
- Multi-department operations
Hospital/Healthcare facility experience will be preferred.

10. Working Conditions
- Full-time position.
- Willingness to work in rotational/on-call requirements when necessary.
- May be required to attend the hospital during facility emergencies or critical breakdowns.
- Must be comfortable working with multiple departments, vendors and outsourced manpower.
11. Salary
Salary: Negotiable and commensurate with qualification, experience and suitability.
- Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be a mature, responsible and hands-on facility professional capable of independently managing multiple non-clinical departments of a hospital.
The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, discipline, coordination, vendor-management and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to ensure that security, housekeeping, food services and maintenance operate smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
