About the Role

We are looking for an innovative and execution-driven Executive – Packaging Development to lead the development, qualification, and continuous improvement of packaging solutions across our product portfolio. This role will work closely with R&D;, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality,

Marketing, and Supply Chain to deliver packaging that is consumer-centric, sustainable, cost-effective, and operationally productive.

The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong project management skills and has hands-on experience in primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging development within the

FMCG or personal care industry.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Packaging

Development

- Lead end-to-end packaging development for new product launches, line extensions,

and reformulations.

- Identify, evaluate, and develop innovative packaging materials, formats, and technologies.
- Design packaging solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, sustainability,

manufacturability, and cost.

- Prepare packaging specifications, technical drawings, artwork requirements, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Packaging

Validation &

- Testing
- Plan and execute packaging qualification and validation activities.
- Conduct compatibility, transit, drop, leak, compression, and stability testing.
- Ensure packaging performs across manufacturing, logistics, storage, and consumer usage conditions.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for packaging-related quality issues.
- Cross-functional Project Management
- Collaborate closely with R&D;, Marketing, Procurement, Manufacturing, Regulatory,

Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain throughout the product development lifecycle.

- Ensure packaging readiness aligns with project timelines and launch milestones.
- Coordinate packaging trials at manufacturing facilities and monitor commercial scale-up activities.

Vendor

Development &

- Management
- Identify and qualify new packaging suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities,



manufacturing processes, quality systems, and innovation potential.
- Work with suppliers to improve packaging quality, cost, and lead times.
- Support commercial negotiations through technical evaluations.
- Cost Optimisation &
- Sustainability
- Drive value engineering and cost optimization initiatives without compromising product quality or consumer experience.
- Identify opportunities to reduce material usage, improve recyclability, and enhance sustainability.
- Support the organization's ESG and sustainable packaging initiatives
- Compliance &
- Documentation
- Ensure packaging complies with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Maintain packaging specifications, technical documentation, validation reports, and change control records.
- Support packaging-related audits and compliance activities.

Continuous

Improvement

- Monitor packaging performance post-launch and recommend improvements.
- Stay updated on emerging packaging technologies, materials, sustainability trends,

and industry best practices.

- Lead initiatives to improve packaging efficiency, quality, and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Packaging Technology, Packaging Engineering
- 2-3 years of experience in Packaging Development within FMCG, Personal Care industries.
- Experience managing multiple New Product Development (NPD) projects simultaneously
- Exposure to sustainable packaging initiatives and value engineering projects will be an added advantage

Desired Skills

- Strong understanding of packaging materials including plastics, glass, paper, laminates,

corrugated packaging, labels, and closures

- Knowledge of packaging manufacturing processes and converting technologies
- Understanding of packaging testing methodologies and validation protocols
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- High attention to detail with an execution-focused mindset
