Job Title -Excess Inventory Analytics & Disposition (Inventory Management)
Role Summary- The Business Analyst will work with Excess Inventory Disposition Program Management team. This role analyses excess inventory reports, evaluates demand/supply signals in SAP , reviews relevant technical parameters (including BOM, Engineering Change Orders and part revision context), and produces structured, data-driven recommendations on disposition options.
The Business
Analyst delivers insights, dashboards, and decision packages that enable Inventory Management and Engineering to select the best path: rework/convert, supplier return, future consumption, or no disposition.
Key Responsibilities
Excess Inventory Analysis-
- Analyse periodic excess inventory reports (quantity, value, aging, location, and segmentation).
- Assess demand and supply using forecast signals, backlog, historical usage & other parts attributes
- Identify root-cause patterns behind excess creation (change order impacts, demand changes, BOM changes).
Technical & Engineering-Context Analysis
- Access available engineering & operations data bases (SAP, IPLM etc,) to review technical parameters needed to support disposition decisions, including:
- Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and revision impacts
- Form/fit/function compatibility indicators (where available)
- Rework feasibility inputs and conversion constraints
- Create a clear technical context summary to support Engineering review and speed disposition of excess inventory.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years experience in inventory management, Engineering change management,
- Hand on experience on SAP ECC
- Robust analytical skills (Excel advanced; experience with VBA/ Power BI preferred)
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP data concepts and part/BOM structures
- Ability to understand and work with engineering change context (ECO/revision impacts) in partnership with Engineering
