About the Role

We're looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Estimator to join a growing group of businesses in stone benchtops, premium kitchens, wardrobes, laundries, bathrooms and custom cabinetry. Your main job is to turn drawings and client briefs into accurate, competitive and profitable quotes in Odoo. You'll also support procurement by raising purchase orders and working with suppliers on approved jobs.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Quoting (primary focus)

Read architectural plans, kitchen and joinery layouts and shop drawings to produce accurate quantity take-offs for cabinetry, stone and hardware.

Build detailed cost estimates covering materials (board, laminates, veneers, 2-pac/polyurethane finishes, edging, hardware, stone slabs), labour, machining, installation, freight and margin.

Calculate stone requirements, including slab yield, cut-outs for sinks and cooktops, edge profiles, joins and wastage.

Prepare and send quotes through Odoo to residential clients, builders and developers, including multi-unit and tender projects.

Turn around quotes quickly and accurately, managing several at once under deadlines.

Keep product, pricing and bill-of-materials data in Odoo accurate so every quote reflects current costs.

Review designs for cost-saving opportunities and flag scope gaps, exclusions and variations before quotes go out.

Price variations and revisions as designs change.

Work with sales and design teams to clarify client requirements, and follow up on outstanding quotes.

Compare estimated and actual job costs, and use the results to sharpen future pricing.

Procurement Support (secondary)

Raise purchase orders in Odoo for approved jobs based on final drawings and cutting lists.





Get pricing from suppliers of board, hardware, stone slabs, sinks and accessories when quoting.

Update supplier prices in Odoo and tell management when prices rise.

Help track key orders and delivery dates alongside the production team.

Skills & Experience

Essential

3+ years' experience as an estimator or quantity surveyor in joinery, cabinetry, kitchens, stone fabrication, interiors or fit-out.

Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and joinery drawings.

Solid knowledge of cabinetry construction, materials and hardware, and of stone products (engineered stone, natural stone, porcelain/sintered surfaces).

Hands-on experience with Odoo (Sales/Quotations module), or solid experience with a similar ERP and the ability to learn Odoo quickly.

Advanced Excel skills for take-offs, pricing sheets and cost analysis.

Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

Good written and spoken English for working with clients, the team and suppliers.

Desirable

Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or a related field.

Experience with Odoo Purchase and Inventory modules, or with configuring pricelists and quote templates.

Experience with joinery software such as Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, Polyboard or 2020 Design.

AutoCAD or SketchUp proficiency.

Some purchasing or supplier coordination experience.

Experience working with international clients (e.g., Australia, NZ, UK, Europe).
