Role Description The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs and policies at the Gwalior site. This full-time, in office role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations, as well as internal standards.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, leading incident and accident investigations, monitoring EHS performance metrics, and coordinating corrective and preventive actions. The EHS Manager will design and deliver training sessions, promote safety awareness, and partner with operations, maintenance, and HR teams to embed safe work practices. The role also involves engaging with external stakeholders,
preparing regulatory documentation, and supporting sustainability initiatives aligned with GCPL’s People and Planet commitments.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety and Occupational Health expertise, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and development of safe operating procedures.
- Candidates should possess solid Environment Health and Safety (EHS) experience, including implementation of EHS management systems, regulatory compliance, and environmental impact monitoring.
- Candidates should possess practical Accident Investigation skills, including root cause analysis, incident reporting, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Candidates should possess effective Training capabilities, including designing EHS training modules, facilitating workshops, and driving behavioral safety programs.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in EHS roles within manufacturing or FMCG environments, with knowledge of Indian and international EHS regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence teams and foster a culture of safety and sustainability.
