Role Summary A senior builder-leader role driving technology strategy across large-scale, technology, and digital transformation engagements. It blends executive advisory and architecture governance with deep, hands-on technical leadership and modern AI/GenAI orchestration. The successful candidate is a trusted advisor to executives who chairs Architecture Review Boards (ARBs) and shapes strategic deals — yet stays hands-on: producing reference implementations, reviewing code and IaC, and personally designing agentic AI/GenAI solutions.
Three non-negotiable bars: (1) Hands-on (2) AI orchestration using the new age tools not merely advised; (3) Executive — translates that depth into business outcomes for C-level forums.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Enterprise Architecture
- Define EA strategy, roadmaps, target-state architecture, principles, patterns, and reference architectures (incl. working reference implementations) across Business, Application, Integration, Data, and AI domains.
- Drive modernization across cloud, data, AI, integration, and platform ecosystems.
Hands-On Technical Leadership
- Personally build PoCs, spikes, and reference implementations to de-risk critical decisions; prototype cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven designs before standardizing.
- Conduct deep reviews of code, APIs, IaC (Terraform/Bicep/CloudFormation), and CI/CD; set and empirically validate standards for performance, scalability, resilience, observability, and cost; unblock senior engineers.
AI & GenAI Orchestration
- Design and orchestrate agentic/multi-agent systems (tool/function-calling, planning, human-in-the-loop) and build RAG pipelines.
- Own model strategy (selection/routing; fine-tune vs. prompt vs. RAG; context engineering); establish LLMOps (evals, prompt versioning, tracing, regression testing); implement guardrails (grounding, hallucination & PII controls, prompt-injection defense); optimize cost, latency, and throughput.
Architecture Review Board (ARB) & Governance
- Own and operate ARBs; define review criteria and approvals; review/govern application, cloud, integration, data, AI, and vendor architectures and modernization initiatives.
- Drive risk assessments, ADRs, and governance documentation; ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Responsible AI & Compliance
- Establish responsible-AI governance (model risk, bias/fairness, transparency, human oversight); govern data lineage/provenance/consent; align with emerging regulation (e.g., EU AI Act).
Client Engagement, Consulting & Pre-Sales
- Advise client executives; join steering committees; run technology assessments and maturity evaluations; guide cloud, digital transformation, data & AI, modernization, integration, platform rationalization, cost, and security.
- Lead solution architecture for RFPs/RFIs/proposals; run discovery/envisioning workshops; build credible PoCs/demos (esp. AI/GenAI); support estimation, costing (incl. AI/token cost modeling), differentiation, and proposal defence.
Solution Development (Enterprise & Healthcare)
- Design enterprise-scale solutions across cloud transformation, data platforms, AI/GenAI, enterprise integration, digital operations, and healthcare — Healthcare platforms, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), Clinical systems, and business process modernization.
Program Leadership, Standards & Mentoring
- Serve as Lead Architect for large programs; ensure architectural consistency; define target/transition-state architectures; join steering committees; manage risks, dependencies, and technical escalations.
- Define enterprise standards and reusable patterns; own governance artifacts (principles, reference architectures, standards, review templates, scorecards, processes); mentor architects and engineers through hands-on reviews.
Profile & Qualifications Experience (Must-Have)
- 15+ years in technology; 8+ in Enterprise/Solution Architecture or Technology Leadership. Bachelor's in CS/Engineering/IS (Master's preferred).
- Demonstrated hands-on delivery — code, PoCs, or reference implementations produced personally within the last 2–3 years (not advisory only).
- Shipped production GenAI/agentic systems (RAG, tool-calling, multi-agent, evals, guardrails); run ARBs; engaged C-level stakeholders; supported large pre-sales and enterprise digital transformation.
Technical Expertise (depth in most)
- Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP, hands-on incl. IaC); microservices, event-driven, DDD, API-first, SOA; API management, event streaming (Kafka), messaging, enterprise integration; real-time data platforms, data governance, ML/AI platforms; proficiency in at least one contemporary language (Python/Java/Go/TypeScript) to build and review code.
AI Orchestration Stack (several required)
- RAG, tool/function-calling, agentic & multi-agent orchestration; frameworks (LangGraph/LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel or equivalent); vector stores/embeddings (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS); evals & guardrails; LLMOps (prompt versioning, tracing, cost/latency optimization); foundation-model APIs and model routing.
Key Competencies Builder-leader credible in boardroom and codebase; strategic thinking tied to business outcomes; executive presence (CIO/CTO/Chief Architect); client relationship management; governance with delivery pragmatism; strong communication
