Role Description The Electromechanical Engineer (Primary) FACTS role is a full-time, position based in Chennai. This role focuses on engineering activities related to Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), including designing electromechanical components and subsystems for high-voltage applications.
Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing technical drawings and documentation, performing calculations and simulations for electrical and mechanical performance, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and international regulations.
The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to support project execution, assists in resolving design and installation issues, and contributes to continuous improvement of engineering practices and tools. Additional tasks may involve supporting factory and site testing, providing technical input for proposals, and maintaining clear communication with project managers and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Robust foundation in Electricity and Electrical Engineering, with the ability to apply these principles to high-voltage and FACTS applications.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and Electromechanics for the design and integration of primary electromechanical components.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills for performing calculations, interpreting test data, and solving complex engineering problems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience with power systems, high-voltage equipment, or FACTS technologies is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering design and simulation tools (e.g., CAD software, electrical and mechanical analysis tools).
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, with strong communication and documentation skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
