Role Description The Design Manager will lead and manage solar project design activities, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with standards, and alignment with business objectives. This full-time role is based in office in Ahmedabad and involves overseeing a team of designers and engineers, reviewing and approving detailed layouts, drawings, and system designs for rooftop and utility-scale solar projects. The position includes coordinating with project management, EPC teams, and clients to refine technical requirements, optimize system performance, and support bidding and proposal documentation.

The Design

Manager will monitor design quality,



implement best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and digital tools. The role also involves mentoring team members, managing timelines and resources, and collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders across AHAsolar’s digital and infrastructure offerings.

Qualifications

- Strong solar engineering and design skills, including PV system design, layout planning, and basic electrical and structural understanding.
- Experience leading design teams, managing projects, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders in EPC or renewable energy environments.
- Proficiency with relevant design and modeling software (e.g., CAD tools, PVsyst, Homer design software, ETAP) and comfort working with digital platforms and data-driven workflows.
- Ability to interpret technical standards, regulatory guidelines, and utility requirements related to solar project execution.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar design or related renewable energy engineering roles, with prior leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related field); a master’s degree or relevant certifications in solar design or project management are an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a structured approach to quality assurance and process improvement.
