Role Description This full-time, on-site Department Manager role is based at the Decathlon store in Jaipur.

The Department

Manager oversees daily operations for a specific sport or product department, including merchandising, stock management, and ensuring an appealing, customer-centric layout. The role involves leading and coaching a team, organizing schedules, supporting skill development, and fostering a positive, performance-oriented environment.

The role also includes monitoring sales performance, managing budgets, implementing commercial actions, and collaborating with other departments to achieve store objectives while promoting Decathlon’s values and commitment to sport accessibility.

Qualifications

- Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teammates.
- Customer service and retail operations skills, with experience in in-store sales, merchandising, and stock management.
- Business and analytical skills, such as sales tracking, KPI monitoring, basic budgeting, and problem-solving.
- Communication and collaboration skills, including explicit verbal and written communication and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Interest in sports and wellbeing, with the ability to understand and advise customers on sport-related products and experiences.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, priorities, and peak-store activity periods.
- Relevant experience in retail, hospitality, or service-oriented roles; prior supervisory experience is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in business, retail management, sports management, or a related field is preferred.
