With a focus on delivering scalable, secure, and reliable products, HCLSoftware has established itself as a trusted partner for digital transformation initiatives worldwide. Committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, the company emphasizes continuous improvement, customer-centricity, and technological excellence.
Its extensive portfolio includes enterprise security, data management, and application development tools, all aimed at helping businesses enhance efficiency and security in an increasingly digital world.
About The Role The Security Engineer at HCLSoftware plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the company’s enterprise and cloud environments. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about building and deploying security controls that are integral to the organization’s operational integrity. The role involves hands-on configuration, coding, and integration of security platforms, emphasizing practical implementation over theoretical documentation.
The Security
Engineer will own end-to-end security platform management, from initial design and deployment to ongoing tuning, automation, and daily health monitoring. Collaboration with various teams such as SOC, Vulnerability Management, IT, and Cloud Engineering is essential to ensure that security controls are effectively integrated and continuously improved. The role offers an exciting chance to work on cutting-edge security technologies, influence security architecture, and contribute directly to the organization’s security posture.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or a closely related technical role with a hands-on approach. Demonstrated ownership of at least two enterprise security platforms, including deployment, configuration, and ongoing management, is essential. Strong expertise in cloud security across major providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with practical scripting skills in languages like Python, PowerShell, or Go, are required.
A solid understanding of operating system internals, networking, and identity protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and OAuth is necessary.
Experience with infrastructure as code and version-controlled workflows will be highly valued. Candidates should have excellent troubleshooting skills,
capable of diagnosing complex issues efficiently.
Preferred qualifications include experience with SIEM migrations, container security, detection engineering, and automation platforms like SOAR. Relevant certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP security credentials, or CISSP are advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities The Security Engineer will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining core security platforms including endpoint detection and response (EDR), email security, secure service edge, cloud security posture management, and identity controls. They will design comprehensive control rollouts that address coverage gaps, handle exceptions, optimize performance, and facilitate rollback procedures. Integration of security tooling with SIEM and SOAR platforms to ensure telemetry collection and automated response is a key function.
Monitoring control health, including agent coverage, policy adherence, and failure detection, will be part of daily operations.
In the cloud and infrastructure domain, the engineer will implement security guardrails across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including policy enforcement, posture monitoring, and remediation workflows. Building and maintaining hardened baselines for operating systems, containers, and cloud services aligned with industry standards such as CIS benchmarks is essential. The role also involves managing secrets, keys, and certificate lifecycle controls in collaboration with platform teams, as well as supporting secure network design through segmentation, egress controls, and remote access configurations.
Automation of repetitive security tasks through scripting, APIs, and infrastructure as code is paramount to improve operational efficiency. The engineer will treat security configurations as code, ensuring version control, peer review, testing, and repeatable deployment processes. Building integrations between security, IT, and engineering systems to facilitate seamless data flow is also part of the responsibilities.
Documentation and runbook creation will ensure that operational procedures are clear and maintainable.
Operational support includes assisting with incident response, rapid control changes, containment, and forensic data collection. Partnering with Vulnerability Management teams to engineer scalable remediation solutions rather than individual ticket handling is vital. Participation in on-call rotations for high-severity incidents and security platform issues will be required.
Additionally, the engineer will contribute to audit and compliance activities by collecting control evidence for internal and external reviews.
For AI security engineering, the role involves implementing security guardrails for internal AI/LLM systems, including protections against prompt injection, model poisoning, and data exfiltration. Maintaining and securing AI infrastructure, developing automation workflows leveraging AI/ML for security operations, and monitoring AI tool usage for compliance are critical tasks. Staying updated on emerging threats to AI systems and adapting security controls accordingly will help safeguard the organization’s AI assets.
