The objective of this role is to establish a strong preventive import-compliance process so that every BLD India shipment is reviewed before dispatch, imported under the correct product description and HSN classification, supported by the necessary regulatory permissions, and cleared efficiently without avoidable Customs or regulatory issues.

Key Responsibilities

1. Handle day-to-day Customs clearance and import operations for BLD India shipments.
2. Coordinate with CHAs, freight forwarders, courier companies, consultants and Customs authorities.
3. Review Bills of Entry, product descriptions, HSN codes, duty calculations and import documents before filing.
4. Check product-wise regulatory requirements under DGFT, CDSCO, Dual-Use, SCOMET, NDPS/CBN and other applicable regulations.
5. Support filing and tracking of CDSCO Dual-Use NOCs, licences and other import approvals through SUGAM.
6. Conduct pre-import compliance checks to identify restricted or licence-controlled products before shipment.
7. Maintain updated product records covering CAS number, HSN code, regulatory status and licence/NOC requirements.

Coordinate with overseas suppliers for correct product descriptions, technical documents, SDS/CoA and end-use declarations.
9. Track shipments under clearance, examination, Customs hold or regulatory approval and ensure timely follow-up.
10. Maintain complete import and compliance records, including BOEs, licences, NOCs, duty documents and Customs correspondence.

Recommended Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
- Candidates with a Chemistry/Pharmacy background plus Customs/import experience should be preferred because BLD deals with chemicals, intermediates, R&D; products, CAS numbers and technical classifications.
- 2–5 years of experience in Customs clearance, imports, CHA operations, regulatory compliance or international logistics.
- Detailed knowledge of Customs, HSN classification, DGFT, CDSCO/SUGAM, Dual-Use NOC, NDPS/CBN and import documentation.
- Valuable knowledge of MS Excel and shipment/document tracking.
