Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Manager / Senior Manager – Corporate Insurance to manage the company's insurance portfolio across solar EPC, project development, construction, operations and corporate activities. The role will be responsible for identifying insurance requirements, managing policies and renewals, coordinating with brokers and insurers, ensuring adequate project and corporate risk coverage, and overseeing the end-to-end claims process.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in engineering/project insurance, renewable energy/solar insurance, risk assessment, policy administration and claims management, preferably within an EPC, infrastructure, power or renewable energy organization.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage the company's overall corporate and project insurance portfolio.

· Identify insurance requirements for solar EPC, rooftop, ground-mounted, OPEX/RESCO and solar development projects.

· Handle insurance requirements during various project stages, including construction, transportation, installation, commissioning and operational phases.

· Manage policies such as CAR/EAR, Marine Cargo, Fire & Allied Perils, Property Damage, Machinery Breakdown, Business Interruption, Contractor's Plant & Machinery, Workmen Compensation, General Liability, Professional Indemnity and other relevant covers.

· Coordinate with insurance brokers, insurers, surveyors, consultants and internal stakeholders for policy placement and servicing.

· Review policy terms, conditions, exclusions, deductibles, warranties, limits and extensions to ensure adequate risk coverage.

· Coordinate with Projects, Finance, Legal, Procurement,



Operations and Business Development teams to understand project-specific insurance requirements.

· Ensure timely renewal of all corporate and project-specific insurance policies and maintain a centralized insurance tracker.

· Evaluate insurance requirements based on project value, contract conditions, customer requirements, lender requirements and contractual obligations.

· Review insurance clauses in EPC contracts, PPAs, O&M; agreements, vendor/subcontractor agreements and other project-related contracts, in coordination with the Legal and Commercial teams.

· Manage the complete insurance claims process, from incident reporting and documentation to surveyor coordination, assessment, settlement and closure.

· Maintain proper documentation and records of policies, endorsements, claims, renewals, premiums and certificates.

· Monitor insurance premiums and support cost optimization and effective utilization of insurance coverage.

· Ensure compliance with contractual and statutory insurance requirements applicable to projects and business operations.

· Coordinate with project teams during incidents such as equipment damage, transit losses, fire, theft, accidents, natural calamities and other insured events.

· Support management in identifying emerging risks and recommending appropriate insurance solutions.

· Prepare periodic MIS and management reports covering policy status, renewals, premiums, claims, outstanding claims and risk exposure.





· Develop and maintain relationships with insurance brokers and insurance companies and support negotiations for premium, coverage and policy terms.

· Conduct periodic reviews of the company's insurance program and recommend improvements based on business growth and changing project risks.

Key Areas of Insurance Exposure The role will primarily handle insurance requirements related to:

· Solar EPC projects

· Ground-mounted solar projects

· Rooftop solar projects

· OPEX / RESCO projects

· Solar project development

· Plant & machinery

· Solar modules, inverters and other project equipment

· Material transportation and storage

· Construction and installation risks

· Project liability and third-party risks

· Operational asset risks

· Employee/workmen-related risks

· Corporate office and general business risks

Candidate Profile

· Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.

· 7–10 years of relevant experience in corporate insurance, project insurance, risk management or insurance broking.

· Experience in Solar, Renewable Energy, EPC, Power, Infrastructure or Engineering industries will be preferred.

· Strong knowledge of engineering and project insurance products and insurance claims procedures.

· Good understanding of contractual insurance requirements and policy documentation.

· Strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.

· Ability to independently manage multiple projects, policies, renewals and claims simultaneously.

· Strong communication and documentation skills.

· Proficiency in MS Excel and preparation of insurance MIS/reports.

Preferred Experience

Candidates who have handled insurance portfolios for solar/renewable energy projects, EPC companies, power projects, infrastructure projects or engineering organizations would be particularly relevant for this position.
