Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Web Operations Specialist with 2 to 3 years of experience in website content management and publishing. The role is responsible for executing day-to-day website updates, creating and enhancing web pages, managing user access, resolving tcontent and functional issues, implementing URL redirects, and supporting the overall maintenance of the website.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with a Content Management System, understands web publishing workflows, and can collaborate effectively with content, marketing, design, development, SEO, analytics, and quality assurance teams.
Key Responsibilities
CMS and Content Publishing
- Create, edit, review, schedule, publish, and unpublish website content using the organizations CMS.
- Execute content updates such as text changes, image replacements, document uploads, metadata updates, and call-to-action changes.
- Ensure content is published accurately and according to approved briefs, templates, brand standards, and publishing timelines.
- Perform pre-publishing and post-publishing quality checks across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Maintain content versions, publishing records, and audit trails where required.
- Support scheduled releases, time-sensitive campaigns, and urgent publishing requests.
Page Creation and Enhancement
- Create new web pages using approved CMS components, modules, templates, and design patterns.
- Enhance existing pages by improving content hierarchy, layouts, links, images, calls to action, and reusable components.
- Ensure pages follow brand, accessibility, usability, SEO, and responsive design guidelines.
- Coordinate with content owners and designers to obtain the required content and assets.
- Verify that page enhancements do not negatively affect existing functionality or user journeys.
User Access Management
- Create, update, disable,
and remove CMS user accounts based on approved requests.
- Assign appropriate roles and permissions following documented access control procedures.
- Conduct periodic reviews of CMS access and support access recertification activities.
- Maintain accurate records of access requests, approvals, changes, and removals.
- Escalate unauthorized access, permission conflicts, and security concerns to the appropriate teams.
URL Redirects and Link Management
- Create and maintain URL redirects based on approved business and SEO requirements.
- Support redirect activities for deleted, renamed, migrated, or consolidated pages.
- Validate redirects to ensure they point to the correct destination and do not create redirect chains or loops.
- Identify and correct broken links, outdated URLs, missing assets, and incorrect navigation paths.
- Maintain redirect documentation or redirect inventories where applicable.
Issue Resolution and Bug Fixes
- Monitor operational support channels and respond to website-related incidents and service requests.
- Investigate and resolve common publishing, formatting, navigation, link, component, and display issues.
- Reproduce defects and document clear steps, screenshots, affected URLs, browser details, and expected behavior.
- Perform basic troubleshooting using browser developer tools and CMS logs, where access is available.
- Escalate complex technical issues to developers, product owners, or platform teams.
- Validate bug fixes and perform regression checks after changes are deployed.
- Track incidents and requests through to closure within agreed service levels.
Website Maintenance
- Conduct routine website audits to identify outdated content, broken links, missing metadata, formatting inconsistencies, and unused pages.
- Support content archiving, page retirement, asset cleanup, and content lifecycle management.
- Assist with navigation changes, taxonomy updates, campaign launches, website migrations, and release activities.
- Maintain publishing checklists, operational documentation, and knowledge articles.
- Follow established change management, approval, release, and rollback processes.
- Support continuous improvements to web operations processes and CMS workflows.
Experimentation Support
- Assist with the setup and execution of A/B tests and other website experiments.
- Create or update test page variants using approved CMS components or experimentation tools.
- Perform quality assurance checks to verify that experiments display and function correctly.
- Validate experiment targeting, links, tracking, and user journeys before launch.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 2 to 3 years of experience in web operations, website production, CMS publishing, digital content operations, or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise or widely used CMS.
- Experience creating and publishing web pages using templates and reusable components.
- Experience with user account administration or role-based access management.
- Experience implementing or validating URL redirects.
- Basic experience supporting website experiments, A/B tests, content variants, or conversion optimization initiatives.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser testing.
- Basic knowledge of SEO, metadata, accessibility, and web quality standards.
- Experience using ticketing or work management tools.
- Robust attention to detail and ability to manage multiple publishing requests.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
