Container Pricing Executive / Specialist

Job Summary The Export/ IMPORT Container Pricing Executive is responsible for preparing competitive freight quotations for export container shipments, negotiating rates with shipping lines and logistics partners, maintaining tariff databases, and supporting the sales team with accurate and timely pricing solutions. The role requires strong knowledge of international shipping, container logistics, freight market trends, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare freight quotations for FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments.
- Obtain and negotiate ocean freight rates with shipping lines, NVOCCs, transporters, and overseas agents.
- Coordinate with carriers and service providers to secure the best pricing and service options.
- Maintain and update freight rate sheets, tariffs, surcharges, and customer-specific pricing agreements.
- Analyze market trends, freight indices, and carrier rate movements to ensure competitive pricing.
- Support the sales team by providing timely quotations, rate comparisons, and commercial solutions.
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure pricing accuracy and service feasibility.
- Prepare RFQ/RFP responses and participate in customer tenders and annual contract negotiations.
- Monitor shipment profitability and recommend pricing improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies,



carrier agreements, and trade regulations.
- Develop robust relationships with shipping lines, agents, and logistics partners.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–8 years of experience in export container pricing, freight forwarding, NVOCC, or shipping industry.
- Strong understanding of ocean freight, container types, trade lanes, and export documentation.
- Experience handling carrier negotiations and freight procurement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and freight management systems.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of international trade terms (Incoterms).
- Understanding of export customs procedures and port operations.
- Ability to manage multiple quotations under tight deadlines.
- Strong commercial acumen and customer-focused approach.
- Experience in handling global trade lanes.

- Executive: 2–5 years of export/ import pricing experience.
- Senior Executive / Specialist: 5+ years of export / import pricing and carrier negotiation experience.
