The Consultant - Blood Centre at Maharaja Agrasen Sat Narain Gupta Hospital will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the blood center, including donor recruitment, blood collection, testing, processing, storage, and distribution. The consultant will work closely with hospital staff, patients, and donors to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, quality standards, and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a medical degree and relevant experience in blood banking, transfusion medicine, or hematology.
Robust communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential for this role. The consultant will also be expected to participate in research, quality improvement initiatives, and staff training programs as needed.
- Provide expert consultation on all aspects of blood banking and transfusion services
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Train and educate staff on best practices for blood collection, processing, and storage
- Conduct regular audits and quality assessments of the blood center operations
- Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure timely availability of blood products for patients
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in blood banking technology
- Work closely with the medical director and laboratory staff to coordinate blood product testing and distribution
- Participate in disaster preparedness planning and response efforts
- Serve as a liaison to external blood donation organizations and regulatory agencies
