Role Overview

Trantor is looking for a hands-on Cloudflare Solutions Engineer to design, build, configure, and operate sophisticated cloud and network-security solutions using Cloudflare technologies across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

This role combines cloud infrastructure, networking, security, automation, and Cloudflare technologies. You will build production-grade environments and reusable technical solutions that support complex Proofs of Concept (POCs), customer demonstrations, partner engagements, technical enablement, and internal engineering initiatives.

This is an engineering-focused role for someone who enjoys building solutions, solving complex technical problems, automating infrastructure, and working across multiple technology domains.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on cloud and networking experience, practical knowledge of Cloudflare products, and the ability to take a technical requirement and turn it into a working solution.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Engineering

- Design and implement cloud-based solutions integrating Cloudflare with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Translate technical requirements into scalable, secure, and repeatable solution architectures.
- Build and configure cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, identity, security, and related services.
- Design network architectures connecting Cloudflare services with cloud and enterprise infrastructure.
- Develop reusable solution patterns that can be leveraged across multiple technical engagements.
- Evaluate technical approaches and make recommendations based on scalability, security, reliability, and operational requirements.

Cloudflare Engineering

- Configure, integrate, and troubleshoot Cloudflare products and services within complex technical environments.
- Work with Cloudflare capabilities including, where applicable:
- Zero Trust
- WAF
- DNS
- CDN
- Access
- Gateway
- Tunnel
- Network Security
- Other Cloudflare security and connectivity services
- Develop hands-on expertise across the Cloudflare platform and understand how individual services work together to solve customer and business requirements.
- Troubleshoot Cloudflare configurations, integrations, connectivity, traffic flows, and security policies.
- Build technical solutions that demonstrate the capabilities and real-world applications of Cloudflare technologies.

Cloud Infrastructure & Networking

- Provision and manage infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Work extensively with cloud networking, including:
- TCP/IP
- DNS
- Routing
- VPN




- Firewalls
- HTTP/HTTPS
- Network security
- Connectivity between cloud and enterprise environments
- Configure and troubleshoot cloud compute, storage, IAM, networking, and security services.
- Analyze network traffic and troubleshoot complex connectivity and application issues.
- Work across hybrid and multi-cloud environments where required.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code

- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational processes.
- Develop reusable automation using Terraform, Python, Bash, REST APIs, or similar technologies.
- Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions that improve consistency, scalability, and repeatability.
- Automate deployment, configuration, testing, and lifecycle management of technical environments.
- Identify manual and repetitive processes and convert them into reliable automated workflows.
- Develop reusable scripts, templates, modules, and tooling that can accelerate future deployments.

Technical POCs & Solution Demonstrations

- Build and support sophisticated technical environments for customer POCs, product demonstrations, partner engagements, and technical enablement.
- Translate real-world technical use cases into working Cloudflare-based solutions.
- Demonstrate how Cloudflare technologies integrate with cloud infrastructure, applications, networks, and security controls.
- Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during POCs and demonstrations.
- Rapidly prototype new architectures and technologies to validate technical approaches.
- Create reusable technical assets that can accelerate future POCs and solution development.

Operations & Reliability

- Ensure solutions are secure, reliable, scalable, and operationally ready.
- Monitor infrastructure and application health and proactively identify potential issues.
- Perform configuration changes, upgrades, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Establish repeatable operational processes and documentation for deployed solutions.
- Continuously improve the reliability, scalability, performance, and maintainability of the environments and solutions you build.
- Support lifecycle management of cloud and Cloudflare configurations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with internal Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Professional Services, Product, Engineering, and Enablement teams.
- Partner with technical stakeholders to understand requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during complex engagements.
- Document technical approaches, architectures, configurations, and lessons learned.




- Share knowledge and reusable technical assets with engineering and customer-facing teams.
- Act as a technical resource for teams working on Cloudflare-related initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

Cloud Infrastructure

- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and administering cloud infrastructure.
- Solid production experience with one or more of:
- AWS
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience building and operating production-grade cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, compute, storage, IAM, DNS, and security.
- Experience working with hybrid or multi-cloud environments is desirable.

Networking & Security

- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
- TCP/IP
- DNS
- Routing
- VPNs
- Firewalls
- HTTP/HTTPS
- Network security
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex network and connectivity issues.
- Understanding of enterprise network architectures and Internet technologies.
- Experience with cloud and network-security technologies.

Cloudflare

- Hands-on experience with the Cloudflare Dashboard and Cloudflare products.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot Cloudflare services.
- Understanding of how Cloudflare technologies integrate with cloud infrastructure and enterprise networks.
- Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Cloudflare Zero Trust
- WAF

Automation

- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, Python, Bash, REST APIs, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience automating cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
- Ability to build reusable automation and tooling.
- Understanding of cloud APIs and programmatic infrastructure management.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with multiple Cloudflare products and services.
- Experience with Cloudflare Zero Trust, WAF, CDN, Access, Gateway, Tunnel, or Network Security.
- Experience building complex cloud-based POC or demonstration environments.
- Experience supporting technical enablement or partner programs.
- Strong Terraform / IaC experience.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or virtualization technologies.
- Experience with cloud automation and API-driven configuration.
- Experience designing solutions across multiple public-cloud platforms.
- Experience with network-security or SASE technologies.
- Cloud or Cloudflare certifications are a plus.
