The Role
Do you see finance not just as numbers, but as a powerful tool for social change? Aria CFO Services is looking for an Assistant Manager – NGO Finance & Compliance to work with NGOs and social enterprises across India.
You will be part of a team that designs, builds, and implements solutions to client needs in finance, taxation, and the laws that govern the development sector. You will work closely with your team, engage with multiple stakeholders, and contribute research-based insight and practical problem-solving.
Key Details
- Qualification: Chartered Accountant with at least 2 years of post-articleship experience
- Reports to: Senior Manager
- Location: Marine Lines, Mumbai (in-person role)
- CTC: ₹8,00,000 – ₹9,00,000 per annum
- Start date: Immediate
- Work days & hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Travel: Occasional travel within Mumbai, and other Indian cities
- Job type: Full-time
What You'll Do Client Management & Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client finance, compliance, and taxation matters
- Manage client relationships with professionalism and empathy
- Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including leadership, auditors, donors, and programme teams
- Guide and support client staff and junior team members in day-to-day operations
- Work independently and take ownership of deliverables
- Promote a collaborative, process-driven team culture
Compliance & Financial Management
- Manage client compliance across FCRA, Income Tax, TDS, GST, and Professional Tax
- Review financial statements, books of accounts, and MIS reports through to audit closure
- Review donor utilisation reports and proposals, and suggest improvements for optimal fund use
- Support payroll structuring and allocations based on donor and management priorities
- Prepare and monitor organisational budgets and expenditure reports
- Review agreements from a legal and financial perspective
- Oversee internal and statutory audit processes
What We're Looking For Must-haves
- Chartered Accountant with at least 2 years of post-articleship experience
- Working knowledge of Income Tax, TDS, and GST
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Tally / ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Able to work in person from our Marine Lines office, Monday to Friday
Good to have
- Exposure to FCRA compliance
- Understanding of charitable trust taxation — registration, exemption, and 80G
- CSR compliance and reporting under the Companies Act
- Donor utilisation reporting and grant budgeting
- Client-servicing experience, particularly with NGOs, foundations, or CSR teams
