SDC is looking to Hire Business System Analyst for Bangalore Location.

Position is Hybrid- 3 days WFO and 2 days WFH

Swire Digital Centre have Business in Aviation(Cathay Pacific Airlines – Swire Pacific) , Shipping (Swire Shipping), Food (Finlay’s) and beverages etc. Swire Digital Centre was established in Bangalore to set up the Ecommerce part and Digitalization of Swire Shipping Vertical.

Job Role Purpose (Why do we need this role?)

This role supports operations and enhancements to core Liner Operating System(s) for Swire Shipping Pte Ltd. This involves cross-functional analysis of business requirements for improving processes and systems, applications support, and implementation of business systems and enhancements in line with business direction and needs.

•Timely delivery of committed solutions (in-house or vendor delivered).

•Stability and design of solutions delivered.

Responsibilities (What is this role responsible for delivering?)

System Enhancements/Projects

• Design:

-Support analysis of business initiatives; contribute to development of business cases and project measurement objectives.

-Conduct requirement studies, detailed systems analysis and design to translate business needs into system solutions. Conduct impact analysis on application changes.

•Develop:

-Work closely with application vendor’s support/development team or Swire Shipping development teams to develop system solutions as per needs identified, following appropriate development methodologies.

• Document:

- Generate documentation of adequate quality for supporting the SDLC as well as regular support, including but not limited to business requirements, solution specifications, training material, operating guides.

• Test:

- Develop and execute Unit testing, System Integration testing, Performance testing plans for new systems/releases/features.




- Support UAT with business stakeholders and customers.

•Deploy:

- Manage patches and releases for the Solverminds Liner Operating System (Java web application) across non-PROD and PROD environments.
- Provide training to end users, if needed

System Support:

•Work closely with application vendor’s support/development team or Swire Shipping development teams to provide application support, including issues analysis and resolution relating to supported applications and interfaces.

•Track support tickets from submission to resolution and ensure that progress on issues is communicated effectively to those involved on the business side.

•Work with business users to ensure that operational issues are resolved effectively and in a timely manner. Be the point of contact between application vendors and Business users.

•Manage and report on SLA for customers, including back-to-back SLA to service providers.

•Manage all applications change requests, using ITCC application, and enhancements, using IT Request Application) to ensure timely and accurate dispositions.

Others:

•Provide support for regulatory and compliance activities, including but not limited to internal and external audits of systems and software.

•Perform research, plans, and propose solutions, recommend software or hardware components to ensure that the company’s business/ operational requirements are met.

•Build and keep updated knowledge repositories for the systems/solutions you are responsible for, and cross train self and others to build capability within the organization.

Key Qualifications & Skills (What knowledge will ensure success in the role?)

Qualifications and Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science,



or related field

•4+ years’ experience in participation of business application development, technical and business analysis

- 2+ years’ experience in analysis and data integration specifications for data exchanges with other IT systems through EDI in the shipping company. It is expected that the person is familiar with the different EDI standards (EDIFACT, ANSI, XML) and API methods of exchanging data.
- 2+ years of solid technical skills (SQL querying, scripting, database related tasks) and a valuable understanding of databases structures (example: tables, columns, primary and foreign key relationships, views)

Professional Skills

•Experience in performing application of fixes for Java web applications and/or sound knowledge of EDI in Logistics / Shipping would be required.

•Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail with keen appreciation of business needs and strong interest in business processes and process re-engineering.

•Resourceful, meticulous, detail-oriented, accountable, and discreet with sensitive / confidential information

•Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software and hardware, business processes and functions used in the organization and the industry.
