Role: Business Analyst

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, clients, and end-users to understand their needs and objectives.
- Elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements for GIS projects.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather essential information.
- Analyze geological data and GIS-related information to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Create data models and visualizations to support decision-making processes.
- Translate data findings into actionable recommendations.
- Evaluate existing business processes and workflows related to GIS.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
- Create detailed functional specifications and user stories for GIS software development.
- Collaborate with software developers and engineers to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate developed solutions.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Communicate project status, risks,



and issues to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Facilitate meetings and discussions to gather feedback and resolve conflicts.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including requirements, specifications, and test plans.

Desired Skills:

- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the Geology Information System (GIS) domain.
- Must have used UML to deliver approach and use case scenarios.
- Strong understanding of geological data, geospatial tools, and GIS software.
- Proficiency in data analysis and modeling using tools such as Excel, Tableau, or similar.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team workplace.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies is a plus.
- Experience with GIS software platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Knowledge of geospatial data formats and standards (e.g., Shapefiles, GeoJSON, WMS).
