Who We Are
Lynx delivers modular, open standards based software for high assurance, mission critical edge systems. Our products and services help customers build, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable systems for aerospace, defense, industrial, automotive, medical, and critical infrastructure applications.
MOSA.ic provides a modular foundation for secure and certifiable edge systems. Lynx also delivers safety critical graphics and AI platforms, along with engineering and lifecycle services for safety and security critical deployments.
Position Summary The Manager BSP Development leads the Bangalore based team responsible for board support packages and custom platform support for LynxSecure and LynxOS 178 and LynxElement products. The role combines people leadership with hands on technical direction for new board bring up, hardware integration, device driver development, and product delivery.
The successful candidate will guide a team of five to six engineers, work closely with global engineering and product stakeholders, and ensure that platform support is delivered predictably across x86, ARM, and RISC V architectures. This is a development focused role; certification experience is beneficial but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a local team of BSP engineers, including goal setting, performance management, technical coaching, and resource planning.
- Own the BSP delivery plan for supported customer and product platforms. Manage schedules, risks, dependencies, priorities, and quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership for board bring up, firmware and boot integration, low level hardware initialization, and custom device driver development.
- Oversee BSP and platform support for LynxSecure,
including hardware resource allocation, device passthrough, interrupt and timer virtualization, virtual networking, and subject integration.
- Oversee BSP support for LynxOS 178 and LynxElement, including startup code, hardware abstraction, device drivers, interrupt handling, networking, storage, serial interfaces, and other board peripherals.
- Guide development across x86, ARM, and RISC V platforms, including U Boot, UEFI, device trees, ACPI, platform firmware, and board diagnostics as applicable.
- Act as the primary technical interface for global management and internal stakeholders. Translate product needs into actionable engineering plans and communicate clear status, risks, and tradeoffs.
- Coordinate with hardware, firmware, hypervisor, RTOS, Linux, validation, and application teams to resolve system integration issues and support customer platforms.
- Establish and maintain effective engineering practices for architecture reviews, code reviews, configuration management, build and test automation, documentation, and release readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 12 or more years of experience in embedded software, BSP development, firmware, device drivers, or platform integration, including demonstrated experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong programming skills in C and practical experience with low level embedded software development.
- Strong understanding of processor architecture,
memory management, interrupts, timers, DMA, cache behavior, boot flows, and hardware initialization.
- Hands on experience with one or more of x86, ARM, and RISC V architectures.
- Experience with bootloaders, U Boot, UEFI, device trees, ACPI, firmware interfaces, and hardware diagnostics.
- Experience developing or integrating drivers for networking, PCIe, storage, serial, USB, GPIO, and other embedded peripherals.
- Experience with RTOS, Linux, hypervisors, or virtualized embedded environments.
- Solid debugging and root cause analysis skills using tools such as JTAG, GDB, serial consoles, trace tools, and hardware or software logs.
- Experience with Git, code review systems, build systems, issue tracking, and continuous integration.
- Explicit written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues to engineering and management stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LynxSecure, LynxOS 178, LynxElement, or comparable hypervisor and RTOS products.
- Experience in safety critical or mission critical embedded product development.
- Familiarity with DO 178C, ISO 26262, or comparable safety critical development processes.
- Experience with deterministic real time behavior, multicore systems, hardware resource isolation, performance optimization, or customer hardware support.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, industrial, automotive, medical, or other regulated embedded markets.
Leadership Expectations The manager is expected to balance hands on technical leadership with people management and execution ownership. Success in this role means building a capable BSP team, enabling new platforms efficiently, resolving complex hardware and software issues, and delivering maintainable platform support that meets product commitments.
