SOMARA is a contemporary restrobar in Lucknow offering a distinctive World Cuisine dining experience, bringing together flavours and culinary traditions from different parts of the world.

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Breakfast Chef to lead the breakfast kitchen and deliver a high-quality breakfast experience with strong focus on taste, presentation, consistency and speed of service.

Job Responsibilities

- Manage daily breakfast preparation and kitchen operations.
- Prepare and execute a variety of Indian and international breakfast dishes.
- Ensure all breakfast items are prepared fresh and served at the correct temperature.
- Handle daily mise-en-place and ensure the breakfast section is fully prepared before service.
- Prepare eggs, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, sandwiches, cereals, salads and other breakfast items as required.
- Prepare Indian breakfast items according to SOMARA's menu and standards.
- Handle breakfast breads, bakery items and accompaniments where required.
- Maintain consistent taste, portion size, presentation and quality.
- Develop and introduce new breakfast dishes in coordination with the Executive Chef.
- Ensure efficient service during peak breakfast hours.
- Maintain adequate mise-en-place throughout service and replenish ingredients as required.
- Monitor ingredient quality and minimise food wastage.
- Maintain proper storage, labelling and handling of breakfast ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the breakfast kitchen.
- Follow food-safety and sanitation standards.
- Train and supervise Commis Chefs and kitchen helpers working in the breakfast section.
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure smooth and timely breakfast service.




- Assist with special breakfast menus, brunches, events and private functions.

Cuisine Exposure Experience with the following will be an advantage:

Candidate Profile

- 3–7 years of relevant professional kitchen experience.
- Previous experience as Breakfast Chef, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef or similar role.
- Experience in premium restaurants, hotels, cafés, resorts or restrobars preferred.
- Strong knowledge of both Indian and international breakfast cuisine.
- Good understanding of egg cookery, bakery/bread products, hot breakfast and cold breakfast preparations.
- Ability to handle high-volume breakfast service efficiently.
- Strong understanding of mise-en-place, portion control and food presentation.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to lead and train junior kitchen staff.
- Strong teamwork, discipline and time-management skills.
- Culinary Arts / Hotel Management qualification preferred.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with both Indian and international breakfast formats, have excellent speed and organisation, and be able to maintain quality even during high-volume service.
