Role Description The Biomedical Engineer will work full time in a hybrid arrangement, primarily based in Chennai with some flexibility for work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing the installation, testing, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment used across various hospital departments. The role involves coordinating with clinical staff to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards, as well as assisting in troubleshooting technical issues to minimize downtime.
The Biomedical
Engineer will support preventive maintenance programs,
maintain accurate documentation of service activities, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams on equipment upgrades and technology integration. Participation in training sessions for hospital personnel on proper equipment use and contributing to continuous improvement in clinical engineering processes are also key aspects of the role.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Medical Equipment handling and Equipment Maintenance.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Preventive Maintenance and safety checks for medical devices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting with exposure to multi-speciality medical equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations, equipment standards, and documentation practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt to a high-volume, patient-centered environment and uphold ethical and inclusive care principles.
