Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced BI Lead with strong banking domain knowledge to join a large-scale data and analytics transformation programme.

The role requires someone who can combine hands-on BI and data development skills with strong functional understanding of banking processes. This is not purely a report migration or technical development role. The BI Lead will work closely with business stakeholders, understand existing reporting and analytical requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and help define new data models, business logic, KPIs and lead a team.

The successful candidate should be comfortable engaging directly with senior business users while also remaining hands-on with data, reporting and BI development.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead BI and reporting workstreams within a banking data transformation programme.
- Work directly with business stakeholders across banking functions to understand reporting, analytical and decision-making requirements.




- Conduct requirement gathering workshops and translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Analyse existing reports, dashboards, KPIs and underlying business logic before migration or redevelopment.
- Lead the migration and modernisation of existing BI reports and dashboards onto the target analytics platform.
- Identify reports that can be rationalised, consolidated, redesigned or retired rather than performing a simple lift-and-shift migration.
- Design and develop new BI reports, dashboards and analytical solutions based on evolving business requirements.
- Define and validate KPIs, measures, calculations, business rules and reporting logic with business stakeholders.
- Help design new data models, semantic models and reporting datasets to support enterprise BI requirements.
- Perform hands-on BI development, data analysis, SQL querying, data validation and troubleshooting where required.
- Validate data from source systems through transformation layers and ensure consistency between underlying data and business reports.
- Establish standards for report development, KPI definitions, data modelling, naming conventions and documentation.
- Support stakeholder presentations, solution walkthroughs and demonstrations.





Mandatory Banking Domain Experience

Candidates must have previous experience working within the banking or financial services sector and should understand banking data, terminology, processes and reporting requirements.

Candidates should be able to interact confidently with banking business stakeholders and understand how operational banking data translates into management information, KPIs and analytical reporting.

Required Experience

- Approximately 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or Data Warehousing.
- Significant hands-on experience delivering BI and reporting solutions.
- Banking / Financial Services domain experience is mandatory.
- Previous experience leading BI or reporting workstreams.
- Strong experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders.
- Experience designing recent reports and analytical solutions in addition to migrating legacy reports.
- Strong understanding of data models, KPIs, business logic and reporting structures.
- Experience working within enterprise data transformation or data modernisation programmes.
- Ability to lead a team while remaining technically hands-on.
