About the Role:
We are hiring a UAV Integration / Avionics Technician to support the hardware assembly,
wiring, and testing of avionics electronics on our UAV platforms. This is a hands-on technical role covering soldering, crimping, wire harness fabrication, mechanical assembly, and functional testing of avionics subsystems prior to and during flight test.
Location: KIADB Aerospace Park, Bengaluru (on-site)
Type: Full-time
Experience: 0–3 years; freshers with solid project experience will be considered
Reports to: Avionics & Electronic Warfare Team Lead / Embedded Hardware Engineer
Responsibilities:
Hardware Assembly & Wiring
Perform through-hole soldering, connector soldering, and wire repair on avionics assemblies.
Fabricate wiring harnesses, including cable routing, connector pinning, and crimping
(JST, Molex, Dupont, servo connectors).
Perform continuity testing on completed harnesses and wiring assemblies.
Carry out mechanical assembly, including fastener installation, airframe assembly,
sensor mounting, and payload installation.
Testing & Fault-Finding
Use a multimeter to measure voltage, verify continuity, and identify open circuits or reverse polarity.
Perform basic functional checks on avionics assemblies using standard lab instruments
(multimeter, power supply, continuity tester).
Support fault isolation and rework on assemblies that fail initial checks.
UAV Systems Support
Assist with integration and wiring of UAV subsystems, including flight controllers
(Pixhawk, Cube, Matek or equivalent), GPS, ESCs, BLDC motors, RC receivers, telemetry radios, LiPo batteries, and power distribution boards.
Support integration work involving communication protocols such as UART, I²C, SPI,
CAN, PWM, and SBUS where applicable.
Documentation
Maintain build checklists, assembly records, and test reports for every unit worked on.
Log data accurately in Excel-based tracking sheets and flight logs.
Ensure documentation is complete and traceable before a unit is signed off.
Flight Test Support
Support pre-flight and post-flight inspections of UAV airframes and avionics.
Assist with sensor calibration and field testing activities.
Support flight-line operations and battery management during test campaigns.
Required Qualifications:
ITI (Electronics/Electrical), Diploma (ECE/EEE/Mechatronics/Aeronautical/Aerospace), or
B.E./B.Tech (ECE, EEE, Aerospace, Mechanical) for junior engineering-track roles.
Demonstrated hands-on proficiency in soldering, crimping, and wire harness fabrication.
Working knowledge of mechanical assembly practices, including fasteners and sensor/payload mounting.
Ability to use a multimeter and continuity tester to diagnose basic electrical faults (open circuits, reverse polarity, voltage verification).
Comfortable maintaining structured documentation (build checklists, assembly records,
test reports, Excel-based tracking).
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with core UAV components: flight controllers, GPS, ESCs, BLDC motors, RC receivers, telemetry radios, LiPo batteries, and power distribution boards.
Working knowledge of communication protocols used in UAV avionics integration:
UART, I²C, SPI, CAN, PWM, SBUS.
Prior experience with pre-flight/post-flight inspection, sensor calibration, field testing,
or flight-line operations.
Project or internship experience in UAV assembly, robotics, or electronics integration,
for candidates without formal work experience.
