Automotive Environmental test Engineer
Location : Bangalore

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, EEE, Power Electronics, or related discipline
Job Overview
- Perform EMI/EMC validation and compliance testing for electronic products.
- Execute emission, immunity, transient, and ESD tests as per applicable standards.
- Analyze failures, support debugging, and prepare test reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Conducted Emission (CE), Radiated Emission (RE), Conducted Immunity (CI), and Radiated Immunity (RI) testing.
- Execute ESD, EFT/Burst, Surge, and automotive transient tests.
- Set up EUTs and operate EMC chambers, EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, LISNs, RF generators, amplifiers, antennas, and transient generators.
- Ensure proper EUT configuration, cable routing, grounding, and test setup.
- Analyze EMC failures and identify noise sources and coupling paths.
- Support debugging through filtering, grounding, shielding, PCB layout, and component-level improvements.
- Prepare test plans, procedures, test reports, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with Hardware, PCB, Systems, Validation, Quality,
and external test laboratories.
Standards & Domain Knowledge
- Valuable understanding of EMI/EMC fundamentals and electromagnetic compatibility principles.
- Working knowledge of automotive EMC standards such as:
- CISPR 25
- ISO 7637
- ISO 11452
- ISO 16750
- ECE R10
- AIS-004
- Understanding of emission, immunity, ESD, transient, grounding, shielding, filtering, and noise suppression techniques.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of hands-on EMI/EMC testing experience.
- Hands-on experience with EMC laboratory and automotive electronic validation setups.
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, DMMs, network analyzers, and RF equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, block diagrams, and PCB layouts.
- Basic understanding of electronic circuits and components.
- Experience in EMI/EMC failure analysis and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with EMC test automation/chamber software is preferred.
- Knowledge of DFSS processes is an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
