URGENT HIRING | ASSOCIATE PARTNER DESIGNATE – GENERAL CORPORATE

Location: Mumbai | Experience: 12–15 Years PQE

Practice Area: General Corporate & Commercial Law A leading law firm is seeking an accomplished General Corporate lawyer for the position of Associate Partner Designate at its Mumbai office.

This opportunity is suited to a senior legal professional with substantial experience in corporate and commercial advisory, transactional documentation and client management. The successful candidate will be expected to independently lead complex mandates, advise a diverse client base, provide strategic legal counsel and work closely with the Partner in driving practice development, business generation and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently manage and advise on complex general corporate and commercial matters, including corporate structuring, governance and regulatory matters.
- Provide strategic legal advice on corporate and commercial transactions, contractual arrangements and business operations.
- Draft, review, negotiate and finalize complex commercial agreements, transaction documents and corporate legal documentation.
- Lead negotiations and manage legal matters involving clients, counterparties and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring effective matter management and delivery of commercially pragmatic legal solutions.
- Supervise, review and mentor Associates and junior team members, ensuring quality and consistency of legal work.
- Collaborate with the Partner on key mandates,



client engagement and strategic practice initiatives.
- Actively contribute to business development through client relationship management, recent mandate generation, pitches and proposals.
- Play a key role in expanding the General Corporate practice, strengthening the firm's client base and building a high-performing team.

Candidate Profile

- 12–15 years of relevant post-qualification experience in General Corporate and Commercial Law.
- Strong experience in independently handling sophisticated corporate advisory and commercial mandates.
- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, transaction structuring and client advisory skills.
- Sound understanding of corporate laws, commercial contracts, governance and applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters and senior client relationships independently.
- Prior experience in team management, supervision and mentoring of junior lawyers.
- Strong commercial acumen, client-centric approach and business development capabilities.
- Candidates ready to assume enhanced responsibilities in client ownership, practice development and team leadership will be preferred.
