What you become a part of:
The incumbent will support the Consumer Health business across commercial planning, performance management, analytics and related commercial processes across markets.
The role will work closely with Consumer Health leadership and country teams to improve visibility of commercial performance, strengthen sales planning and execution, drive greater consistency and identify growth opportunities across markets, while also supporting commercial finance, pricing, trade and cost-related processes.
This is a hands-on, commercially oriented and analytical role for someone comfortable working with commercial data, business teams and cross-functional stakeholders in a CoE workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Planning & Target Management:
- Support sales planning, target setting and tracking across markets, products, channels and territories.
- Analyse historical performance, market potential and business plans to support target-setting discussions.
- Track target achievement and identify markets, teams or products requiring management attention.
- Support monitoring of sales incentive structures using relevant performance data.
Commercial Performance & Analytics:
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports covering sales, growth, targets, productivity and other key business KPIs.
- Analyse performance by market, product, customer/channel, territory to identify trends, gaps and opportunities.
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews with clear analysis and actionable insights.
- Identify performance gaps, understand root causes and track corrective actions.
- Develop standardized performance reporting across Consumer Health markets, reducing reliance on manual and fragmented reporting.
Commercial Operations & Business Support:
- Support commercial processes relating to pricing, commercial terms, duties, logistics costs and business performance.
- Work with Finance, Supply Chain and Logistics on import/export, customs, trade documentation and related processes.
- Support cross-functional resolution of commercial and operational issues across markets.
Process Improvement & Automation:
- Identify manual, repetitive and inefficient commercial processes and recommend opportunities for simplification, standardisation and automation.
- Leverage Power BI, automation and emerging AI tools to improve reporting, analysis and commercial decision-making.
- Develop scalable dashboards,
templates and analytical tools that can be adopted across Consumer Health markets.
- Support implementation of process improvements and track adoption and impact.
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Statistics or a related discipline. MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in Commercial Excellence, Sales Operations, Business Analytics, Sales Effectiveness, Business Finance or a similar role.
- Experience in FMCG, Consumer Healthcare, Pharma, Retail or other consumer-facing businesses is preferred.
Essential skills:
- Strong commercial understanding and ability to connect data with business outcomes.
- Ability to translate analysis into clear, practical recommendations for business stakeholders.
- Experience in sales force effectiveness, territory analytics, incentive management or distributor/channel performance.
- Working knowledge of commercial finance, pricing, trade terms and cost drivers, with the ability to understand their impact on commercial performance.
- Exposure to import/export processes, customs, trade documentation and related commercial processes is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau or equivalent business intelligence tools.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to work with large and varied data sets.
- Exposure to AI, automation, predictive analytics or emerging analytical tools and their application to commercial processes.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills across functions and geographies.
- Willingness to travel across African markets as required.
