Role Objective:
The Infrastructure Migration Manager is a centralized resource responsible for end-to-end management of weekend migration and change activity across multiple infrastructure projects. They will work with project managers to ingest migration tasks and build detailed runbooks, coordinate change checkouts and outages with the ToC, and lead the Monday post go-live troubleshooting bridge.
The role follows an offset schedule: Thursday, Friday and Monday, 2 PM to 11 PM IST, for runbook development and review, with weekend migration windows worked from home as required by the migration schedule. Along with all centralized roles in our PMO they will be expected to contribute to continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ingest migration tasks from project managers and build detailed, sequenced runbooks for each migration
- Review runbooks with PMs and technical teams ahead of each weekend, confirming readiness, owners and rollback steps
- Manage end-to-end execution of weekend migration changes across multiple projects
- Engage closely with ToC on change checkouts and outage coordination
- Ensure ServiceNow change records are raised,
approved and closed in line with change management procedures
- Lead the Monday post go-live troubleshooting bridge, tracking issues through to resolution or handover
Required Skills (Core Expectations):
Infrastructure Project Management
- Project management or coordination experience in IT infrastructure (e.g., data center, network, server, storage or end-user migrations)
- Understanding of the project lifecycle, dependencies and cutover planning
Migration and Runbook Management
- Experience building runbooks and cutover plans with task sequencing, owners, timings, go/no-go checkpoints and rollback steps
- Experience leading live migration bridges and keeping execution on schedule
Change and Incident Coordination
- Experience with ServiceNow change management and CAB processes
- Experience coordinating outages and change checkouts with operations and application teams
- Ability to triage post go-live issues and escalate to the right technical teams i
Communication and Process Improvement
- Clear, timely status communication to technical teams and project leadership during and after migration events
- Critical thinking skills to identify recurring migration issues and improve runbook templates and processes
- Acumen in leveraging AI to accelerate runbook development and status reporting while maintaining accuracy
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Certifications: CAPM, PMP or ITIL 4 Foundation
- Experience with ServiceNow change and incident reporting
- Experience related to required skills at a regulated financial institution.
Explicit Non‑Goals
❌ Not a project manager of record. The Migration Manager owns weekend execution and the runbook, but the PM owns project scope, schedule, budget and RAID decisions.
❌ Not a technical implementer. The Migration Manager coordinates the engineers who carry out changes but doesn't perform engineering work.
