Summary:
UST is looking for a Memory Characterization Engineer with strong expertise in SRAM/Compiler Memory characterization, validation, and delivery for advanced technology nodes.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Memory Characterization Engineer to drive the characterization, validation, and release of memory IPs across multiple operating conditions and technology nodes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in memory characterization flows, timing and power analysis, Liberty model generation, and silicon correlation to enable successful SoC integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform characterization of SRAM, ROM, Register Files, and Compiler Memories across PVT corners
- Generate and validate Liberty (.lib) models for timing, power, and noise analysis
- Develop, maintain, and enhance memory characterization and automation flows
- Analyze characterization data and ensure accurate modeling of memory performance
- Perform QA checks and validation of characterized memory deliverables
- Debug characterization issues and work closely with design, CAD, modeling, and foundry teams
- Support memory IP releases and ensure compliance with customer and SoC integration requirements
- Drive silicon correlation and post-silicon analysis to improve model accuracy
- Develop automation scripts for flow optimization and runtime improvements
- Participate in design reviews, methodology improvements, and release sign-offs
- Collaborate with global teams to resolve memory performance and qualification issues
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, VLSI, or related field
- 4-8 years of experience in Memory Characterization or Memory IP development
- Strong understanding of SRAM architecture and memory fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with memory characterization flows and Liberty model generation
- Experience with timing, power, and noise characterization methodologies
- Good understanding of STA concepts and timing analysis
- Experience with EDA tools used for characterization and validation
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Perl, Tcl, or Shell scripting
- Valuable understanding of semiconductor process technologies and PVT variations
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Candidate should be currently employed and on an organization's payroll
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced technology nodes (FinFET and below)
- Knowledge of memory compiler development and IP delivery flows
- Familiarity with SPICE simulators such as HSPICE, XA, Spectre, or FineSim
- Experience with Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens characterization tools
- Exposure to LVF, CCS, ECSM, and advanced Liberty modeling methodologies
- Understanding of silicon correlation, yield analysis, and reliability characterization
- Experience working with global cross-functional teams
