Job Opportunity: Assistant Manager Tooling Maintenance Stamping for Connector Manufacturing Industry
Job Title: Assistant Manager Tooling Maintenance
Qualification: Diploma in Tool & Die Making – NTTF / GTTC or Equivalent
Location: Pune – Wagholi, MH
Experience: Minimum 8 Years
Role Summary:
- Assistant Manager Tooling Maintenance will be responsible for leading tooling maintenance activities for high-speed stamping operations, ensuring preventive and predictive maintenance of progressive dies, improving tooling performance, productivity, and product quality in line with IATF 16949 standards. The role involves team mentoring, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, tooling inventory management, and cross-functional coordination to support uninterrupted production and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily tool performance and ensure production requirements are achieved.
- Lead and mentor the tooling team in repair and maintenance of progressive dies.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve quality and productivity.
- Prepare and execute monthly improvement action plans.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of tools as per schedule.
- Operate and support conventional machines such as lathe, milling, and grinding machines.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Manage tooling spare inventory and maintain proper storage and organization.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain workplace discipline.
- Drive Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support Quality Management System activities, audits, and tooling documentation.
- Monitor OEE and OEU performance and implement recovery plans.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support value engineering initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to EHS and quality standards across tooling operations.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and multitask effectively.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong knowledge of progressive die maintenance, repair, assembly, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of tool steels and heat treatment processes.
- Hands-on exposure to high-speed stamping operations and tooling maintenance.
- Knowledge of conventional machining operations like lathe, milling, and grinding.
- Exposure to tooling development and transfer tools will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement practices is preferred.

- Proven experience in handling preventive maintenance, productivity improvement, and tooling team management.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, safety practices, and manufacturing standards.
