Role Overview To manage end-to-end SCM Operations at the manufacturing plant, ensuring timely material receipt, storage, inventory accuracy, production material availability, line feeding, logistics, dispatch, spares and efficient material movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage RM receiving, unloading, GRN, storage, picking and issue to production.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO, material identification, bin management and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to the production line as per production plan.
- Manage Production Material Control (PMC), kitting, material shortages and line-side inventory.
- Prepare and monitor D-1 shortage lists and coordinate with Purchase for timely closure.
- Ensure batch, lot and serial traceability of critical components against VIN.
- Manage ECN cut-in activities, old-revision blocking and stock disposition.
- Manage rejection and non-conforming material,
including rejection area, MRB coordination, supplier returns and scrap control.
- Manage RGP/NRGP processes, job-work challans, e-way bills and material outward documentation.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation with transporters, suppliers and internal teams.
- Plan and monitor material movement, vehicle placement, dispatch and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments, PODs and ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
- Manage spares warehouse operations, warranty replacements and dealer/service-centre requirements.
- Drive inventory control through ABC analysis, cycle counting, stock reconciliation and inventory ageing.
- Ensure accurate ERP/WMS transactions and maintain zero pending daily transactions.
- Conduct monthly physical stock verification and support month-end inventory closure.
- Prepare inventory, shortage, logistics, ageing, SLOB and SCM MIS reports.
- Maintain warehouse 5S, safety, housekeeping and visual management standards.
- Support internal, customer and certification audits and ensure compliance with SOPs and IATF 16949 requirements.
- Drive process improvements through ERP/WMS, barcode scanning, Kanban, Lean and error-proofing initiatives.
- Manage manpower allocation, shift planning, training, productivity and daily activities of Stores, Logistics and Spares teams.
- Ensure EHS compliance,
including MHE/forklift safety, Li-ion battery handling and fire-safety requirements.
Required Skills
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Industrial or Production Engineering, or Graduate with PG/MBA in Operations / Supply Chain Management.
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in SCM, Warehouse, Stores, PMC and Logistics operations.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in team management / leadership.
- Good knowledge of Warehouse, Stores, PMC and Logistics Operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, ABC analysis, cycle counting and stock reconciliation.
- Knowledge of BOM, MRP basics, Kanban, kitting and line-feeding processes.
- Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO, material handling, warehouse layout and bin management.
- Working knowledge of SAP MM/WM/EWM, Oracle or other ERP/WMS systems.
- Robust working knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets and MIS reporting.
- Knowledge of e-way bills, job-work challans, POD, freight and transportation documentation.
- Good cross-functional coordination with Production, Quality, Purchase, NPD and Finance teams.
- Good problem-solving, planning and people-management skills.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing, EV, two-wheeler or auto-component industries will be preferred.
- Exposure to Li-ion battery handling and EV components will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 requirements will be preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
