Are you a seasoned print journalist? The Hindu is looking for a talented Assistant Editor to join our editorial team in Chennai.

If you have a sharp eye for detail, a passion for storytelling across formats, and solid experience running a newspaper desk, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, copy-edit, and design compelling news pages using CUE Print or Adobe InDesign.

Commission impactful news analysis and long-form reporting on affairs.

Work in office from the Chennai head office in the late evening shift.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience: 8–12 years of dedicated experience in print journalism.

Crucial Requirement: Prior print desk experience in newspapers is mandatory for this role.

Education: Master’s degree in Journalism is highly preferred.
