Hyderabad

Company Description DiagnoBac’s builds AI-driven models that transform biomolecular engineering from discovery to design, enabling faster and more precise development of functional biomolecules. The platform focuses on creating high-performance capture molecules for biosensors, diagnostics, and molecular sensing applications. By translating biological intent into practical molecular solutions.

Role Description The Aptamer-Based Electrochemical Sensor Engineer will design, develop, and optimize electrochemical biosensors that leverage aptamer-based capture molecules for diagnostic and molecular sensing applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing laboratory experiments, fabricating and characterizing sensor prototypes, analyzing electrochemical data, and refining sensor performance parameters such as sensitivity, specificity, and stability. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and molecular engineers, to integrate AI-guided biomolecule design into sensor development workflows.

The role also involves documenting protocols, preparing technical reports, supporting technology transfer and scale-up, and maintaining compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards. This is a full time, on-site role located in the Greater Hyderabad Area.

What we're looking for

We care much more about what you can build than what is written on your CV.

You don't need to have the perfect degree or come from a particular background. If you've built an electrochemical biosensor, broken it, figured out why it failed, and made it work again, we want to talk to you.

You should be able to:

- Build and optimize electrochemical biosensors from the electrode up.

- Work with aptamers / nucleic-acid recognition elements and immobilize them onto electrode surfaces.

- Design and interpret experiments using techniques such as EIS, CV, DPV, SWV, amperometry or potentiometry.
- Work with different electrode materials and surface-functionalization chemistries.
- Optimize immobilization, blocking, buffer conditions, target concentration and assay conditions.
- Characterize sensitivity, limit of detection, dynamic range, selectivity, stability and reproducibility.
- Troubleshoot noisy, unstable or inconsistent sensor signals and figure out what is actually going wrong.
- Design proper controls and understand the difference between a genuine biological signal and an electrochemical artifact.
- Take an idea from paper → experiment → prototype → iteration without needing everything to be handed to you.

Strong bonus points if you have experience with:
- Aptamer-based sensors
- Screen-printed or miniaturized electrodes
- Gold-thiol chemistry and electrode surface modification
- Microfluidics
- Potentiostat development or sensor electronics
- Wearable or point-of-care diagnostics
- Serum, plasma, saliva, urine or interstitial-fluid samples
- Translating laboratory sensors into portable devices
- Python/MATLAB or other tools for electrochemical data analysis

Qualifications A degree in electrochemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, biotechnology, materials science, chemistry, electronics or a related field can be useful, but it is not a requirement.

What matters more is evidence that you can make things work.

If you've built something relevant through a research project, startup, thesis, internship, independent project or simply by figuring it out yourself, show us what you built.

Send us a GitHub, paper, thesis, project, prototype, dataset, lab notebook, or anything else that demonstrates your ability.

We are hiring builders, not credentials.
