ROLE PURPOSE The Apparel Production Merchandising Intern will work closely with the Senior Merchandiser and support the complete buyer order process from sampling and approvals through production, quality, packing and dispatch.

This is a hands-on factory role providing practical exposure to buyer requirements, tech packs, garment sampling, production merchandising and order execution.

Reporting Line: The intern will work under the direction of the Senior Merchandiser and will not independently handle buyers or orders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSampling & Development

- Work with the Senior Merchandiser to understand buyer tech packs, measurement sheets, BOMs, construction details and buyer comments.
- Coordinate with the pattern master, sampling tailors and sampling team under the Senior Merchandiser’s guidance.
- Follow up on development, fit, size-set, wash, photo-shoot and PP samples.
- Assist in checking samples against the buyer’s tech pack and specifications before submission.
- Maintain the sampling tracker, including due dates, submissions, buyer comments, corrections and approvals.
- Follow up on sampling fabric, trims, labels, embroidery, printing, washing and other requirements.
- Ensure corrections provided by the Senior Merchandiser are communicated to the sampling team and completed on time.

Production Merchandising

- Support the Senior Merchandiser in managing assigned buyer orders.
- Maintain POs, tech packs, BOMs, buyer comments, approvals and style files.
- Update the Time & Action Calendar (T&A;) and follow up on pending activities.
- Coordinate with sampling, sourcing, cutting, production, washing,



finishing, QA/QC and packing teams.
- Assist with preparation for PP meetings.
- Follow up on fabric and trim readiness before production.
- Track styles through cutting → stitching → value addition/washing → finishing → packing → dispatch.
- Update daily/weekly WIP and order status reports for the Senior Merchandiser.
- Immediately highlight delays, discrepancies, missing materials or production issues to the Senior Merchandiser.

Quality & Buyer Requirements

- Learn to check garments against approved samples, measurements and buyer specifications.
- Assist in ensuring the factory is working according to the latest approved tech pack and buyer comments.
- Check basic requirements including labels, wash-care labels, size labels, hangtags and packaging.
- Support QA/QC and production teams with buyer-specific requirements.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Graduate/final-year student in Fashion Technology, Apparel Manufacturing, Textile, Fashion Design, Merchandising or a related field.
- Freshers may apply.
- Basic knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and measurements preferred.
- Valuable communication and follow-up skills.
- Basic Excel/Google Sheets knowledge.
- Willing to spend time on the sampling and production floor, not only at a desk.
- Organised, energetic and willing to learn.

Dispatch The objective is to develop the intern into a capable Production Merchandiser who can gradually take responsibility for buyer orders and sampling execution.

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹17,947.29 per month
