Job Purpose
This is a hands-on senior technical role for an engineer with deep expertise in test automation and scripting. The successful candidate will design and build robust automation frameworks, drive quality across the Scrum team, and mentor junior QA automation engineers.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks that improve test efficiency, coverage, and reliability.
- Develop efficient, reusable automation code for new user stories, and continuously enhance and refactor existing automated test suites.
- Review automation code produced by the Scrum team to ensure compliance with coding best practices, framework standards, and maintainability.
- Build and maintain automated API tests alongside UI automation to ensure end-to-end coverage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product, DevOps) to integrate automation seamlessly into the development lifecycle and CI/CD pipeline.
- Work within Agile/Scrum methodologies - participating in sprints, stand-ups, backlog refinement, and planning sessions.
- Use and manage test and defect tracking tools such as JIRA effectively.
- Identify risks, bottlenecks, and gaps in test coverage or execution, and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.
- Document frameworks, test strategy, and test artifacts, keeping them current and clear.
- Act as a technical coach and advisor to junior team members through knowledge sharing and pairing.

What to Bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6–8 years of hands-on test automation experience.
- Strong expertise in Java-based automation using Selenium WebDriver.
- Solid experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber) and unit/test frameworks (JUnit, TestNG).
- Proven experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Hands-on API testing experience (e.g., REST Assured, Postman, or similar).
- Working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL for data validation and backend testing.
- Experience with Maven, Jenkins, and Docker for CI/CD integration.
- Basic JavaScript knowledge.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to automation challenges.
- Valuable interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while mentoring junior team members.
Nice to Have:
- Energy Components or Oil & Gas Domain knowledge.
- Performance/load testing experience (e.g., JMeter).
- Experience testing enterprise or data-heavy applications.
