We are hiring Web Research Task Authors for a short-term AI Research & Evaluation project in India.

Role: Web Research Task Author – Pay Per Task

Experience: 3+ Years of Experience with a Master’s Degree

Mode: Remote

Engagement: Full-Time – 40 Hours/Week

Start: Immediate

Mandatory Eligibility Criteria

Technical Qualification:

- Strong advanced web research and information retrieval skills.
- Ability to research and synthesize information from multiple independent English-language sources.
- Experience using advanced search operators, reverse lookups, institutional catalogues, archives, libraries, museums, registers, and specialized databases.
- Strong ability to evaluate source credibility and distinguish primary vs. secondary sources, open vs. restricted content, and original vs. republished information.
- Ability to extract precise citations and verbatim evidence from webpages, PDFs, scans, tables, and other public sources.
- Strong understanding of clue architecture, logical research chains, and evidence-based reasoning.
- Ability to identify information leaks, undefined terms, ambiguous clues, and clues that are too broad or too narrow.
- Experience using resources such as the Wayback Machine, preprint servers, sports databases, film databases, and other research repositories.
- Ability to use search engines and LLM tools while independently fact-checking every AI-generated claim against the original source.
- Strong written English and ability to create clear, exact, and self-contained research tasks.

Educational Qualification:

Mandatory: Master’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant professional experience in web research, journalism, fact-checking, library or archival research, genealogy, due diligence, graduate-level primary-source research, citation-heavy editing, or related fields.

Preferred: Advanced research experience in History,



Science/Technology, Sports, Music, Politics, Geography, Film, Television, or other research-intensive disciplines.

Availability :

- Ability to work 40 hours/week
- Minimum 4 hours of PST overlap
- Minimum availability of 20+ hours per week
- Available to work remotely from any eligible location/time zone
- Ability to start immediately after successfully completing the assessment

Others:

- Personal laptop/desktop and stable high-speed internet
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with search engines, online research databases, archives, and LLM tools
- NDA required as project materials contain confidential client IP

What You’ll Work On:

- Craft original 60–120 word research prompts that resemble genuine research questions without copied content or search hints.
- Research 4–6 clues across different reputable open English-language sources.
- Provide direct quotes, URLs, and verification dates for each source.
- Identify a definitive answer such as a name, date, catalogue number, or documented title.
- Clearly explain why alternative answers do not fit the available evidence.
- Document plausible wrong answers and identify which clues eliminate each alternative.
- Clearly articulate the research/search path used to reach the final answer.
- Verify all sources while logged out and ensure the information is publicly accessible.
- Refine tasks when AI models solve them too easily or reviewers identify ambiguity.
- Ensure every task has appropriate difficulty and strong, independently verifiable evidence.
- Create research tasks capable of evaluating the ability of frontier AI models to perform multi-step web research and evidence synthesis.
- Maintain high research quality, accuracy, source integrity, and throughput while incorporating reviewer feedback.
