1. Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced 2D Furniture Designer & Estimation Executive who has practical experience in the furniture manufacturing industry and can convert finalized furniture concepts/designs into accurate 2D drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), costing and customer quotations. The candidate should have a strong understanding of furniture construction, materials, hardware, dimensions, manufacturing processes and costing.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. 2D Furniture Drawing & Design

- Prepare accurate 2D furniture drawings based on approved designs, concepts and customer requirements.
- Prepare detailed drawings with:
- Length, width and height
- Panel thickness
- Joint details
- Edge details
- Hardware positions
- Door/drawer details
- Sectional views wherever required
- Prepare production-ready drawings for manufacturing.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure that drawings are practical and manufacturable.
- Modify drawings based on production requirements or customer revisions.
- Maintain proper drawing numbering and revision control.

B. Bill of Material (BOM) The candidate must have a strong understanding of BOM preparation.

Responsibilities include

- Prepare detailed BOM for each furniture item/project.
- Identify and calculate required:
- Plywood / MDF / HDF
- Veneer / Laminate
- Solid wood
- Edge band
- Glass
- Hardware
- Hinges
- Channels
- Handles
- Screws and fittings
- Adhesives and other consumables
- Calculate material quantities based on approved drawings.
- Ensure that BOM quantities are accurate and practical for manufacturing.
- Coordinate with purchase and production departments regarding material availability and specifications.

C. Costing & Estimation
- Prepare item-wise costing based on the approved design and BOM.
- Calculate material cost, hardware cost and other relevant manufacturing costs.
- Consider wastage/norms while preparing material requirements.
- Coordinate with production/purchase teams to obtain current material and hardware prices.
- Prepare accurate project/item-wise cost sheets.
- Identify cost-impacting design changes before final quotation.

Quotation Preparation The candidate should be capable of preparing the final customer quotation after design finalization.

Process expected

Customer Requirement → 2D Drawing → Design Finalization → BOM → Costing → Management Approval → Final Quotation

Responsibilities include

- Prepare item-wise quotation after finalization of design and BOM.
- Prepare quotations based on:
- Material specification
- Quantity
- Hardware
- Manufacturing cost
- Installation, if applicable
- Transportation, if applicable
- Applicable margins
- Ensure that quotation specifications match the approved drawing and BOM.
- Make revisions in quotations based on changes in design, material or quantity.
- Maintain records of quotations and revisions.

1. Coordination Responsibilities

The candidate will coordinate closely with:
- Production Team
- Purchase Department
- Sales Team
- Project/Execution Team
- Management
- Vendors/Suppliers

The candidate must be able to clearly communicate what is to be manufactured, which material is required and how much material is required.

1. Required Technical SkillsMust Have

- Practical experience in 2D furniture drawing
- Experience in furniture manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of furniture construction
- Strong understanding of Bill of Material (BOM)
- Ability to read and understand furniture drawings
- Ability to calculate material quantities
- Knowledge of plywood, MDF, HDF, laminates, veneer and solid wood
- Knowledge of furniture hardware and fittings
- Experience in costing and estimation
- Experience in quotation preparation
- Ability to coordinate with production and purchase teams

Software Knowledge Candidate should preferably have good working knowledge of:
- AutoCAD / 2D CAD
- MS Excel
- MS Word




- ERP/software used for estimation and quotation, if applicable

1. Important Selection Criteria

Candidates must have practical experience in the complete process: 2D Drawing → BOM → Material Calculation → Costing → Quotation

Candidates who only have 2D drawing experience but do not understand BOM, costing and quotation preparation will not be preferred.

1. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The candidate's performance will be evaluated based on:
- Accuracy of 2D drawings
- Accuracy of BOM
- Accuracy of material calculations
- Accuracy of costing
- Accuracy of quotations
- Reduction in material wastage
- Timely preparation of drawings and quotations
- Coordination with production and purchase teams
- Number of drawing/BOM revisions due to errors
- Adherence to approved specifications and margins

1. Qualification

Diploma / ITI / Graduate / Interior Design / Furniture Design / CAD-related qualification preferred. Relevant practical experience in furniture manufacturing may be considered in place of formal qualification.

1. Experience Required

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in furniture manufacturing, with hands-on experience in: 2D Furniture Drawing + BOM + Costing + Quotation Preparation.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
