Job DescriptionProduct Design Engineer - Mechanical NLocation: Mumbai, Goregoan East NType: Full-time NExperience: 4–8 years NThe RolenCosy is building modular indoor farms designed to grow fresh produce directly where it is consumed. NWe're looking for a Product Design Engineer who can take our current farm system and engineer its next generation - not simply make drawings. NYou will own the mechanical evolution of the product from concept → CAD → prototype → testing → manufacturing → field feedback → redesign. NYour objective is straightforward but difficult: NYour mandate is to turn our current farm into a world-class, production-ready product - engineered for reliability, manufacturability, serviceability and scale, while achieving an aggressive cost structure suited to the Indian market. NThe goal isn't simply to make the product work. It's to make it simpler, smarter, more robust and dramatically more cost-efficient with every iteration. NWhat You'll Ownnn Mechanical architecture of Cosy's farming units N 3D modelling, assemblies and production drawings in SolidWorks N Design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA) N Sheet-metal, fabricatedstructures, plastics, insulation/enclosures and other manufacturing processes N Mechanical integration of HVAC/cooling, water systems, pumps, tanks, lighting and electronics N Material selection, tolerances, fits and component specification N Prototype development and engineering validation N Design testing, failureanalysis and iterative improvement N BOM simplification and aggressive cost engineering N Designing for reliability, cleaning,
maintenance and serviceability N Technical coordination with fabricators and component vendors N Reviewing manufactured components against engineering drawings and specifications N Supporting installations and field troubleshooting when engineering involvement is required N Maintaining organised CAD, drawings, revisions and engineering documentation NnWhat Good Looks Like NYou don't just ask: N"Does it work?"nYou ask: NCan it have fewer parts? Can it be cheaper? Can it assemble faster? Can a technician access it easily? What fails first? Can we manufacture it locally? Can we remove this component altogether? NWithin your first year, we expect you to have materially improved Cosy's farm across: NCost ↓ | Part Count ↓ | Assembly Time ↓ | Failure Points ↓ | Service Time ↓ Nwhile improving: NReliability ↑ | Manufacturability ↑ | Finish ↑ | Modularity ↑ | Product Quality ↑ NWho We're Looking Forn N B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics or a closely related discipline N Approximately 4-8 yearsof hands-on product-development experience N Strong command of SolidWorks N Experience taking physical products from CAD into actual manufacturing N Strong understanding offabrication and manufacturing processes N Experience developing prototypes and solving problems on the shop floor N Strong mechanical fundamentals and practical engineering judgement N Comfortable working directly with fabricators and suppliers N Evidence of having reduced cost or simplified an existing product N Comfortable working in a rapid-moving environment where the product is still evolving NnWe Care More AboutThis Than Your CV NShow us something you've actually built. NDuring the interview, we'd like to understand one physical product or assembly you've personally worked on: NWhat was the problem? What did you design? What manufacturing decisions did you make? What failed? What did you change? And how did the final product become better or cheaper because of your engineering? NWe're looking for someonewho enjoys building real things.
