About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our client's team as a Senior DoD Staff Writing SME. This is a full time, remote position that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and maintaining technical documentation that complies with Department of Defense (DoD)



standards and frameworks. The role demands a robust understanding of defense systems, technical writing best practices, and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and accurately to diverse audiences. This position plays a vital part in supporting the delivery of mission-critical systems, ensuring all documentation aligns with regulatory requirements and supports operational readiness.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related field, with an advanced degree preferred. A minimum of seven years of experience in technical writing is required, with at least four years dedicated to DoD documentation standards. Demonstrated expertise in MIL-STD-499, DoD 5000 series, or similar compliance frameworks is essential.
