Role Description
Ambitio is seeking full-time Admissions Editors to join its core editorial team. This role is focused on the end-to-end drafting and editing of high-stakes admissions documents, with a strong emphasis on PhD applications, research-driven Statements of Purpose, and proposal writing.
The Editor will be responsible for engaging with applicants,



interpreting university-specific prompts, and producing original, intellectually sound admissions narratives. This role requires robust independent judgment, a deep understanding of what admissions committees evaluate, and the ability to translate a student’s academic and research trajectory into clear, credible writing. Use of generative AI tools for drafting is strictly not permitted.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and structurally refine admissions documents including Statements of Purpose, personal statements, research proposals, and academic essays.
• Research and interpret university- and program-specific prompts, faculty focus areas, and departmental expectations to ensure precise alignment in each submission.
• Work extensively on PhD applications, ensuring clear articulation of research interests, research questions, methodological awareness, and disciplinary grounding.
