Legal Engineer — Pune (onsite/hybrid), reports to Head of Legal
Contracts at Searce get drafted and reviewed by agents, not from a blank page. This role owns that system: makes it better, finds what it's missing, and is accountable when it's wrong. Not a research project, a production system someone runs.
What you'll do:
• Improve what's already live (intake triage agent, NDA self-serve) until it's measurably better, not just running. Catch rate and false-positive rate are the scoreboard, per clause type, rechecked every time the model changes.
• Find the gaps in the clause library and playbooks before legal or delivery has to flag them to you.
• Own the full stack end to end: drafting agents, review agents, the eval harness, and the legal layer of the CLM-CRM integration. If an agent drafts something a playbook should have caught, that's yours to close,
not someone else's bug report.
What you need:
• 5-8 years shipping automation into a real legal, legal-ops, or contracts setting, or equivalent experience building production agent systems.
• You've shipped something into production and watched it hold up at real volume, not just demoed a prototype.
• You use agent tooling in your own work today, at engineer depth, and can explain exactly how you catch it when it's wrong.
This isn't a role for one-off scripts. It's a maintained, versioned system, measured the same way everything else at Searce gets measured.
