Job Summary:
This role is the technical and engineering lead for middleware and web services across the global estate. Reporting into the SVP of Database and Middleware Engineering, this lead will work with engineering teams to drive the next-generation automation solutions for middleware, and web services: evolving legacy systems while leading build, integration and migration to cloud-native, open-source, AI/agent-powered platforms. The incumbent must combine deep technical credibility with visionary leadership and ability to partner with application, AI, analytics, and operations teams. Over the next 5 years, this role is expected to transform GIC's middleware infrastructure into differentiators for performance, scale, agility, and insight.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Vision:
- Develop and own a multi-year strategic roadmap for middleware and web services aligned with business goals (e.g., cloud migration, cost optimization, latency SLAs, AI/ML readiness).
- Expertise in application hosting technologies with specialized emphasis on IBM technologies i.e.



WebSphere/WebLogic Application Server, WebSphere Portal, WebSphere Liberty, WebSphere Process Server, WebLogic Forms and Reports, IHS (IBM HTTP Server)
- Provide expertise in other web hosting technologies like Oracle Application Server, Apache, Tomcat etc
- Drive adoption of AI/agentic/AIOps capabilities: e.g.,anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, self-healing, auto-scaling of clusters/queue managers and automated patching.
- Develop comprehensive multi-year technical vision and roadmap for GIC's global middleware, web services, and SWIFT engineering, aligning with overall business objectives and investment strategies.
- Build end-to-end observability for middleware platforms using up-to-date platforms (Grafana, Datadog or equivalent)
