Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Primary Design Engineer – Power & Energy to join our Bangalore engineering team and support international substation and power infrastructure projects. The role will be responsible for the primary engineering and design of HV/EHV substations, ensuring compliance with applicable international standards, client specifications, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop primary substation designs for HV/EHV substations, including AIS/GIS systems and associated equipment.
- Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, equipment layouts, sections and elevations.
- Develop substation layouts considering electrical clearances, equipment arrangement, access, maintainability and constructability.
- Prepare equipment specifications and data sheets for transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, VTs/CVTs, surge arresters, busbars and other primary equipment.
- Undertake busbar and equipment sizing, electrical clearances and related primary design calculations.
- Coordinate with Protection & Control, Civil/Structural, Secondary, SCADA and other engineering disciplines.
- Review vendor drawings, technical submissions and engineering documents for compliance with project requirements.
- Support preparation of technical specifications, material requisitions, design reports and engineering schedules.
- Participate in design reviews, technical meetings and client discussions.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are completed within agreed quality, schedule and budget requirements.
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning and resolution of site queries where required.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant IEC/BS/IEEE standards, client specifications and utility requirements.
Required Technical Skills
- Solid experience in HV/EHV substation primary engineering and design.
- Experience with AIS and/or GIS substations, preferably in the 132kV, 220kV, 400kV or hig
