Job Description:

The Purchase Manager is responsible for end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and inventory management for power equipment components. The role ensures that materials are procured at the best price and quality, meeting project-based production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies for raw materials and components (copper, aluminum, insulating materials, steel).
- Vendor Management & Development: Identify, evaluate, and maintain a robust, diversified vendor base (domestic & import) for critical power components.
- Techno-Commercial Negotiation: Float RFQs, conduct techno-commercial evaluations, and negotiate contracts to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines.
- Inventory & Production Coordination: Monitor inventory levels using Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems to align procurement with manufacturing schedules.
- Quality Compliance:



Ensure all purchased materials comply with IS/IEC standards and customer specifications, coordinating with QA/QC teams for vendor audits.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) and drive cost-saving initiatives (5-10% annually) through value engineering and alternate sourcing.
- Risk Mitigation: Develop contingency plans for critical shortages and manage supplier risks, including bankruptcy or quality failure.
- Document Management: Manage the end-to-end P2P (Procure-to-Pay) process, including PO creation, GRN, and invoice compliance in ERP/SAP systems.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: 8+ years of purchasing experience in heavy electrical equipment or manufacturing environments.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of power line equipment materials, technical specifications, and BOM (Bill of Materials).
