They work in manufacturing plants, workshops, and industrial sites to ensure machinery runs safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Assembly: Put together mechanical parts and sub-assemblies using hand tools and power tools.
- Read Blueprints: Follow basic engineering drawings, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Material Prep: Measure, cut, grind, and shape metal pieces.
- Maintenance Support: Help clean, oil, repair, and check machinery for routine operational problems.
- Use Instruments: Measure workpieces accurately with tools like Vernier calipers and micrometers.
- Follow Safety:
Keep the work area clean and obey safety rules.
Requirements & Skills
- Education: High school diploma plus an or technical diploma.
- Experience: 0 to 2 years of hands-on workshop or industrial experience.
- Core Skills: Positive grip on basic hand tools, metal shaping, and measuring techniques.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy parts.
